These barrels are filled with water! When Mario was serving his sentence on Isle Delfino cleaning up all the graffiti that he was framed for, he would throw these barrels all around and use the water that burst from them to clean up the goop found on the island.
Item Usage[]
While Blast Boxes are essentially just an alternate version of a Crate, so too are Water Barrels to regular Barrels. When a Water Barrel breaks, whether by attack or being thrown, it will release a flood of water from within in which washes away items and players down a path. If the Water Barrel was broken upon being thrown the the water will flow in the direction that the Water Barrel has been thrown. If the Water Barrel was just broken when it was standing up normally the water stream will be much weaker and flow from both sides of the busted barrel. Upon running into a wall. The water will reverse course and flow back in the opposite direction. The water only flows a short distance Roughly the length of a small platform on Battlefield, before dissipating.
