Stage Info[]

The Underworld. Home to Hades, Thanatos, Pandora, Hewdraw, Twinbellows, and (perhaps obviously) the vast Underworld Army. Prior to the events of Kid Icarus, Palutena cursed Medusa to look like a monster and banished her to the Underworld where Medusa would plot her revenge. Medusa took command of the Underworld Army and took them to battle against Palutena and Skyworld eventually defeating Palutena and imprisoning her personal angel Pit to the deepest depths of the Underworld. Armed with only his bow, Pit had to climb up through the bowels of the Underworld in his quest to rescue his goddess.

Stage Design[]

Underworld Layout

Stage Layout[]

The layout for this stage is plucked right from the beginning of Kid Icarus when Pit is stuck in the deepest depths of the Underworld and must find his way out. Like 75m and Mario Bros., this stage is a recreation of that same NES look floating in mid-air. The blue lines in the Stage Design image indicate solid platforms for fighting on while the green lines indicate soft platforms which can be jumped through.

Hazards[]

Reaper & Reapette[]

An NES sprite of a Reaper will always be present on the stage, however for most of the match it will be walking back and forth in the background in its unaware state. Every once in a while during a match, the Reaper will enter the foreground, much like how Donkey Kong does in 75m, and become aware of the fighters. This causes the Reaper to panic and run back and forth on its platform as it summons four Reapettes onto the stage. The Reapettes fly through the air and attempt to ram into whatever fighter they can, dealing a small amount of damage. Reapettes are weak and can be killed if they take 5% damage however the Reaper will continue to summon them in swarms of 4 until either 10-15 seconds have passed where the Reaper will go back into the background, or the Reaper has been dealt 50% damage and killed. If the Reaper goes back into the background on its own then it could come back into the foreground after 30 seconds have passed. If the Reaper was instead killed, it will take 2 minutes before it can return.

The Reaper can spawn on any platform of the stage at the start of a match or when it respawns after dying. Additionally, the whole time that the Reaper is active and summoning Reapettes, the classic 8-bit Reaper theme from Kid Icarus will be playing instead of the match’s actual battle theme.
