Stage Info[]

While other Animal Crossing titles have you living just in a small town, deserted island, or a campground, Animal Crossing: City Folk decided to throw a whole city into the mix! Not that you moved into the city of course, oh no, you still just moved into a small town. But this small town just so happened to be located near a city that you could visit! In fact, visiting the city is rather important to the gameplay as that’s where many familiar characters who would once visit your towns on a whim can be located. You can find Gracie at GracieGrace, Lyle at the Happy Home Academy, or even Mr. Resetti at the Reset Surveillance Center!

Stage Layout[]

Town and City features one long flat platform in the middle which can have different smaller platforms above it depending on whether the stage is visiting the Town or the City. When the stage is visiting the Town, there will be three small platforms above the main one with the middle-most platform being lower than the other two in a bit of a reverse of the classic Battlefield arrangement. When the stage is visiting the city, the stage will only have two platforms floating above on the far left and right sides. Additionally, the platforms in both of these arrangements can drift slightly from side to side and will disappear entirely when the stage transitions from one form to another. The stage will randomly start at either the Town or the City at the start of every match and will remain there for about 30 seconds. Once that time is up, the stage will travel to the other location, a process that lasts about 15 seconds, before arriving and staying for another 30 seconds. Rinse and repeat.

Beyond that, this stage features elements that are very similar to that of the Smashville stage including a day/night cycle, a K.K. Slider concert, and a large variety of cameo appearances. Between 4am and 7am the stage will be set to Dawn with a pale blue sky. Between 7am and 4pm the stage will be set to Day with a deep blue sky. Between 4pm and 7pm the stage will be set to Evening with an orange sky and the house lights in the background turning on. Between 7pm and 4am the stage will be set to Night with a dark sky with visible constellations. Additionally, if you play on this stage on Saturdays between 8pm-12am then K.K. Slider will hold a concert on the stage playing one of his songs.

The possible cameos that can appear on this stage are numerous with some characters only appearing if the stage is visiting the Town or the City. Additionally, these cameos may react to the fight at hand and cheer for or against particular fighters as the match progresses. One feature that can appear on the stage includes The Roost which is located just behind the main platform and will have Brewster serving coffee to the other cameo characters.
