Stage Info[]

Deep within the Darkling Woods lies the Black Temple, resting place of the Demon King, Fomortiis. Manipulated by the feint vestige of his presence, Lyon betrays Ephraim and Eirika in a quest that brings him here, to attempt to resurrect the Demon King. This is where the Renais twins reconvene, aiming to put an end to this legendary villain once and for all.

Stage Layout[]

The stage is grounded, featuring walk-offs on either side of a staircase leading to an upper level, where the Demon King's massive throne is seen in the background. A breakable stone platform about the size of Town & City's floats above the upper grounded floor and will regenerate after several seconds once broken. Two other pass-through platforms are present on either side of the stage, between the stairs and the lower floor, and will become weighed down when stepped upon and flit back into place once released. Every so often, Lyon himself will appear at the foot of Formortiis' throne, bringing with him potential hazards.

Hazards[]

Lyon:[]

Lyon will menacingly pace the floor between him and Fomortiis' throne, letting loose with a couple of dark magic attacks into the foreground. The most notable of these is his sacred tome, Naglfar, which materializes in the form of a portal-esque flux that culminates from several dark strings of magic turning into an explosive ball at the center of the stage. The ball stands at about a third the size of Battlefield and has a Black Orb-like effect once it materializes, drawing opponents in and releasing devastating damage upon any of those who are hit by it. Although, Lyon is far more likely to use Flux, which will travel around the stage in trackable shadow before pulsing upwards, ensnaring foes in its dark energy before dissipating.

After he appears a few times, Lyon will be apt to begin harvesting upon the power of the Sacred Stones to summon Formotiis himself. This process will be carried along faster the more KOs and self-destructs are drawn, which Lyon himself will point out as he becomes more maniacal, basking in red bursts of energy. He ecstatically laughs before disappearing into a dark burst, from which Formotiis lets loose.

Fomortiis:[]

The massive Fomortiis takes up most of the background during his stay, becoming a stage boss to take down. Whoever manages to KO the Demon King will gain a point. His head and arms linger in the foreground. Occasionally, his tail will come into scope, as well. Fomortiis will often use Nightmare, a pulsing magic attack that sends multiple bursts of dark purple rays throughout the entirety of the stage. Don't miss them and you will be instantaneously set to sleep, becoming a sitting duck for Fomortiis' other couple of attacks.

The next is Ravager, within which Fomortiis will use melee-based attacks, including swiping down with one hand or another across the stage, slamming them both downwards into the stage after a short period of time used to telegraph his output, ramming his horns towards the center of the stage, and even slapping his tail across the stage in one direction and then the other. Finally, Fomortiis might unleash Demon Light, a charged attack that sees the Demon King "rev up" the gem on his head as shreds of corrupted lights culminate within it, eventually bursting out in an all-power beam that he spreads quickly from one side of the screen to the other. It carries heavy damage and knockback and can instantly break shields.
