Enemy Info[]

While many bugs inhabit the towns, cities, and islands of the Animal Crossing world there are few as terrifying as the Tarantula. Contrary to popular belief, Tarantulas are actually docile by default however if a Villager approaches one while holding a Net then they become aggressive. Tarantulas will wait for the Villager to make the first move, however if the Villager misses with their net, runs, or jogs away then the Tarantula will follow them in hot pursuit and even jump over ramps to get to the Villager. If a Tarantula catches up to a Villager they’ll go in for a bite which makes the Villager pass out only to wake up later in front of their house. If a Villager succeeds in capturing a Tarantula in their net they can either sell them for a large amount of bells to Tom Nook and his nephews, or donate the Tarantula to the local museum where Blathers will surely have only positive things to say about such a… delightful creature.

Fight Pattern[]

If you encounter a tarantula out on the field, its best recommended to somehow avoid it whether that means jumping over it or just taking an alternate route. If a player runs past a tarantula, attacks it in any way, or approaches it while holding any item then the tarantula will become hyper aggressive and chase after the player until either are defeated, the player enters a door, or the tarantula falls into water. The Tarantula is also one of if not the smallest enemy in the game which can make attacking them rather difficult especially with the speed in which they run and jump at the player.

Attacks[]

Bite[]

When a tarantula gets close enough to the player they’ll leap at them to try and bite them. These bites deal a large amount of damage and knockback, far more than one might perhaps expect from such a simple creature, and fall off the player. The tarantula will then take a few moments before it continues its pursuit against the player and tries to bite them again.
