Boss Info[]
Dvalin is the Dragon of the East of Mondstadt’s Four Winds and has been a friend to the Anemo Archon for nearly 2000 years. Dvalin was injured during the cataclysm 500 years ago after a battle against Durin and those Dvalin one, his blood was infected by Durin’s Abyssal poison. This poison, plus the belief that Mondstadt and the Archon had abandoned him allowed the Abyss Order to corrupt Dvalin’s mind and command him to attack Mondstadt under the new name “Stormterror”. Thanks to the efforts of the Traveler alongside Paimon, Venti, Jean, and Diluc, Dvalin was subdued and restored to his former self.
Boss Fight Details[]
Dvalin is fought in a unique circular battle arena. This means that the players can run from one side to the other infinitely as the background rotates around as they run from one area to the next. That said, if hit by hard enough attacks the player can still be sent past the blast zones to the sides of the stage. No matter where the players run however, Dvalin will be centered in the middle of the arena and will make their attacks from there.
After Dvalin has lost 1/3rd of his health, his neck will slam down onto the stage with a tired thud. At this point the corrupted blood clot on Dvalin’s neck will be visible and become a weak point. If enough damage is dealt to the blood clot then it will burst and deal a high amount of damage to Dvalin. If the blood clot isn’t destroyed in time then Dvalin will recover and resume fighting. The players will have a second chance to attack Dvalin’s blood clot after Dvalin has lost 2/3rds of his health.
Attacks[]
Fly-By[]
Aiming for the fighters, Dvalin will fly towards the screen from the background and attempt to ram right into the fighters. After a few moments Dvalin will return to the background.
Dragon Breath[]
Dvalin will get up close and personal and grab the stage in his claws before unleashing a wide beam of Anemo energy onto the stage. Dvalin will begin by pointing the beam low to the ground before raising his head and sweeping the beam up into the air. During this time, Dvalin’s claws can be attacked and if enough damage is dealt to Dvalin then this attack can be ended prematurely.
Bite[]
Dvalin will sweep down towards the stage and swing his head low against the platform to attempt to catch the fighter in his mouth and bite them. If Dvalin is able to catch a fighter directly in the mouth he will chew on them a couple times before spitting them back out.
Pulse Bombs[]
While flying in the background Dvalin will fire two energy orbs at the stage. Each orb will aim for where the fighter was positioned at the time they were launched and will each explore out into an aoe.
Caelestinum Finale Termini[]
With a mighty roar, Dvalin will unleash a storm of Anemo energy which rains down onto the stage and covers roughly 70% of the screen. Each individual hit from this attack deals miniscule damage and no knockback, but the sheer multitude of projectiles means this can really add up.
Omega Bomb[]
Dvalin will charge up a massive orb of energy from off in the background before firing it straight towards the fighter. This Omega Bomb has tracking capabilities and will follow the fighter in their attempts to dodge the upcoming attack. The best ways to dodge this one are to either keep running in a straight line or bank on a perfect dodge at the last moment possible. This attack also comes with a large aoe and deals a very large amount of damage.
Energy Lightning[]
For this attack Dvalin will spend anywhere between 8-20 seconds flying around in the background untargetable by any attacks. During this period bolts of lightning will constantly be striking the stage as the fighter is forced to focus on only dodging attacks for a time.
