Character Info[]
Stocke is a Special Intelligence agent with mysterious origins hailing from the Nation of Alistel in the northeastern part of Vainqueur, a continent that is slowly turning to sand. As if that weren’t bad enough, Alistel is currently under siege by the war-hungry kingdom of Granorg. Before setting out on a critical military mission Stocke is gifted the White Chronicle, a tome said to contain incredible power. After two of his closest comrades are killed he wakes up in Historia, a dimension beyond time. He discovers he can now travel between crucial points in time, and returns to prevent his friends’ untimely demise. Travelling across Vainqueur and time itself, Stocke and his allies must bring an end to the war and halt the world’s desertification before all is lost.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
The White Chronicle spins in place and disappears in a flash of light as Stocke appears from it, drawing his sword and shield.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby gains Stocke’s mop of blond hair and brown gloves over his stubby hands.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Stocke holds his sword hilt up to his chin, pointing the blade out toward his opponent, then lightly swings it down (based on his level-up animation).
Down Taunt: Stocke pulls out the White Chronicle and holds it up to read. It gently floats in of his hands as a few pages automatically turn, before he tucks it away
Side Taunt: Stocke reels in alarm, as a bubble containing an exclamation mark appears above his head.
Victory Poses[]
- Stocke sheathes his sword and puts his shield to his back before crossing his arms confidently. “Too simple.”
- Stocke gives a theatrical twirl of his sword, then faces the camera and poses by holding it out with both hands (similar to his pose on Perfect Chronology’s box art).
- Stocke steps into a portal of light to warp to Historia, with Teo and Lippti standing on either side. They all give the camera one last nod before vanishing in a flash of light.
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Will o' Wisp: Stocke uses Mana to create a burst of flame right in front of him. He can also hold the button to charge and release a maximum of five consecutive bursts, with each one combusting a little further away from the last. This move is fairly good for zoning, but the flame bursts deal less damage the further away they are from Stocke.
Side Special[]
Dullahan Sword: Stocke winds up and rushes forward with a stabbing attack that travels a fair distance. This move will catch any opponents in his path and drag them along before flinging them away at the end.
Up Special[]
Air Assault: Stocke leaps up and performs an overhand slash, which knocks hit opponents higher into the air. Stocke can use his second jump after this move if he hasn’t already to try and follow up with midair attacks.
Down Special[]
Area Heal: Stocke creates a small green area of healing Mana on the stage at his feet. Standing in this area will continuously heal a minor amount of damage. It remains onstage for 8 seconds; Stocke must wait 20 seconds after it disappears before he can deploy another. Opponents can also make use of it, so be mindful of where and when to cast it.
Final Smash[]
Dead Fencer: Stocke rushes forward and delivers a powerful slash, knocking his opponent(s) into a cinematic finisher. As the opponent tumbles in midair, Stocke zips by them from various angles to unleash a stream of blows, then knocks them skyward. He leaps up to meet them, charging up and delivering an overhanded strike, bringing them down and landing with a gigantic explosion. The scene ends and the opponent(s) is sent flying.
Extra Skill[]
Turn Swap: By holding Shield and B together, Stocke will clench his fist in a charging pose as the White Chronicle’s light seeps from it. This causes a sword icon to appear by his damage meter. By continuing to hold this pose additional sword icons are added, for a maximum of 5. Stocke can halt charging by releasing the button but cannot charge any further once he does, ‘locking in’ the number of sword icons for the time being.
What this does is that Stocke may then cancel his next move into another one for as many sword icons he has available. For example, with 3 sword icons Stocke can begin with a down tilt -> up tilt (1) -> up tilt (2) -> up smash (3) and ignore any end lag (a full jab combo will count as a single move in this case). Each successful cancel uses up one sword icon; he can only begin charging again once all sword icons have been depleted.
However, after Stocke uses up his current supply of sword icons he becomes highlighted in a red hue (based on the original game’s ‘vulnerable’ state). In this state Stocke will receive more damage than usual if attacked, and will be entirely unable to attack or use Turn Swap again until he returns to normal. The more sword icons Stocke uses to cancel attacks, the longer he’ll have to wait to attack again. This skill is based on Radiant Historia’s central mechanic of swapping and reordering party member’s future turns to act early, at the cost of having to wait longer for their next available turn.
