Though they were first encountered in a world of dreams, these mask wearing humanoids have been known to pop up in the real world too. They are more commonly known to be foes of Yoshi and the young Baby Mario which makes one wonder if their bountiful appearance in Subcon is due to Mario’s memories of them from when he was a baby. It is an incredibly rare sight for a Shy Guy to be seen without a mask on. One time when a Shy Guy one a singles tournament for Tennis it tripped over its own feet which sent its mask clattering to the ground. Only Luigi has ever caught a glimpse of the Shy Guy’s true face. What Luigi saw is unknown, all we do know is that whatever he saw caused him to be quite shocked.
Fight Pattern[]
Shy Guys can appear in one of five different colors as an enemy with those being Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Black. Each of these Shy Guys work in the same manner as they waddle around a chosen spot until they spot a fighter before running after them. However each color of Shy Guy does differ in terms of their stats. Red Shy Guys deal more damage, Blue Shy Guys have more health, Yellow Shy Guys can jump higher, Green Shy Guys run faster, and Black Shy Guys are the best of them all as they have the stat increases of each of the four other kinds of Shy Guys.

When Shy Guys spot a fighter they’ll run towards them and begin to wildly flail their little arms around to try and hit them. It’s not a very strong attack, but Shy Guys often come in groups of 2-4 Shy Guys which makes it harder to dodge them all.
