Stage Info[]
“Listen up y’all! This is DJ Professor K comin’ atcha live from Jet Set Radioooo! As the Master of Mayhem for Tokyo-To’s #1 Pirate Radio Station, I’ll be spinning tracks all throughout these sick showdowns. Get ready to duke it out, and leave the scratchin’ to me! “Shibuya-Cho is the southern district of Tokyo-To, also known as ‘the City of Daylight.’ The streets are a constant battleground for Turf between rival gangs known as Rudies. This district includes a Bus Terminal, Park Street, and the iconic Center Street. Between the GGs, Poison Jam, Love Shockers, etcetera, everybody wants a piece of that graffiti-plastered pie!”
Stage Layout[]
“The setup for Smashtopia is smack-dab in the middle of Center Street crossing. Citizens mill about watching the fight, but will scramble for cover if fighters get too close. No matter where you go in Shibuya-Cho, these streets tend to loop back to Center Street, so fighters can walk-off one end and re-enter on the other side. Just don’t get knocked offscreen too hard, or you’ll be KO’d!”
Stage Hazards[]
Radio:[]
“All you Rudies better watch out! Rokaku’s police force is out to crack down on anyone or anything disturbing the streets. Every so often a helicopter will zoom in from the background, targeting nearby fighters before launching a volley of missiles! ...But anyway, don’t fret about that - lemme tell you about the only ‘hazard’ that really matters! Every so often a radio will appear in the middle of the crosswalk. Whichever fighter can lay a smackdown and tune it to Jet Set Radio first will get a special Shout-Out from yours truly! All you Rudies better not sleep on this station with celebrity guests like these! Here, lemme serve you up a few samples, pro bono:”
- Geno -“Hey Geno, you’re a star! Hope you’re not too sore from our last meetup in the King For Another Day tournament. You’ve got tons of long-time fans out there, plus some new ones thanks to that sick remake. Keep that machine gun hot, and show us what you got!”
- Nergal - “Aw heck, it’s Nergal. You know, the guy who’s always awaiting people on the Dread Isle. With that turban and that goatee, this sucka looks a bit like that one bad guy from that one kid’s movie. If I were him I’d lay off the dark magic; it ain’t too good for the complexion, y’know what I’m sayin’?”
- Krystal - “Yo yo it’s Krystal, the homegirl of Team Star Fox! Anyone who dresses like Xena and can swipe the winning lottery numbers from inside yo’ mind is a certified badass in my book. Speaking of, we’re still waiting for that new game Nintendo; y’all KNOW Command ain’t canon!”
- Adeleine - “This Adeleine gal’s a Rudette in the making, already well-versed in the visual arts. Dunno how she feels about graffiti, but I bet she could paint one heck of a wall mural. I wonder if she takes commissions? This studio could really use a portrait of old K to liven things up, ha ha!”
- Big Man - “Ayyyy, now we’re talkin’! Big Man’s one of the three pillars of Deep Cut, composing the freshest jams from the jam store. You know, Inkopolis ain’t so different from Tokyo-To; to any Inklings or Octolings tuning in, feel free to stop by if you ever want a new venue for those Turf Wars of yours!”
- Lizzie - “Oh no...there goes Tokyo-To. Lizzie may look like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws she ain’t. Still, you think a giant reptile gives a damn about any copyright laws?! Run for your lives, GGs! Aaaaaaahhhh!”

“Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention: if you hold the L Button when picking Shibuya-Cho, you can listen to these tracks as a non-stop mix. I’ll serve up a random order of funky fresh beats that smoothly transition into one another. Just ‘cause y’all are in the thick of battle don’t mean you can’t get a little funky!
“This is DJ Professor K signing off; see you Rudies on the other side!”
