Character Info[]

Scott Pilgrim lives in the mystical land of Toronto, Canada. He became swept up in an epic battle to win the heart of Ramona Flowers by going up against her 7 Evil Exes. Along his journey he not only discovered love but a deeper understanding of himself. He also the bassist for a band called Sex Bob-omb, along with Stephen Stills (vocals/guitar), Kim Pine (drums) and Young Neil (biggest fan/understudy bass).

General Information[]

Entrance[]

Scott enters from one of Ramona’s Subspace Doors and nudges it closed with his foot.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby obtains Scott’s light brown hair. It looks a little shaggy…

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: An Extra Life appears above Scott’s head. He happily grabs it and stuffs it into his pocket (sadly, this does not grant Scott an extra Stock).

Down Taunt: Scott checks to make sure his bass is in tune, plucking a couple notes.

Side Taunt: Scott pulls out his sword, the Power of Understanding, strikes a cool pose…and then puts it away.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Scott pumps his fist and points slightly off-camera (a reference to the first volume’s cover art).
  2. Scott looks over his shoulder and spots Ramona; hard cut to the two slamming face-to-face, magically floating as they lock lips.
  3. Stars erupt from Scott’s bass as he shreds and head-bangs endlessly.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Hurricane Kick: Scott whirls around in place to deliver a quick spinning kick. Holding the button makes Scott charge the move for increased power, then unleashes it while rising slightly into the air. This can provide a tiny bit of extra recovery when used in tandem with Scott’s Up Special move.

Side Special[]

X-Strike: This move has Scott team up with Ramona, who appears from Subspace facing Scott several feet away; both crouch and quickly zip through the air, crossing paths in an X-shape (almost like two intersecting Wolf Flashes at once) and slashing with the Power of Understanding and the Power of Love, respectively. This move has great coverage but delivers minimum damage and can be punished if an opponent is only caught by a single slash. If the opponent is hit directly in the middle of the ‘X’, damage and knock-back is significantly increased. Afterward, Ramona disappears back into Subspace while Scott enters free-fall.

Up Special[]

Scott Shoryuken: Scott uses a rising punch derived from the Street Fighter series. The move differs from Ryu and Ken’s Shoryukens by having Scott leap up before throwing the punch. This delayed punch makes it harder to hit opponents than a standard Shoryuken, but landing it can allow Scott to instantly lead into an Air Juggle (see Extra Skill section).

Down Special[]

Bass Battle: Scott pulls out his bass guitar and gets ready to rock. Pressing A, B, X or Y will make Scott play one of four different coloured notes that shoot up above him reverse-Guitar Hero style. The notes become less powerful/easier to escape from the higher they rise, and disappear after rising a fair distance. You can also alter the pitch of each note by tilting the control stick in any of four directions, giving access to two octaves’ worth of notes. Thrash your opponents while playing the hits! Pressing the Shield button will make Scott put his bass away.

Final Smash[]

We Are Sex Bob-omb!: Scott swings his bass like an axe, trapping any hit opponents in a cinematic finisher. Scott teams up with Stephen and Kim (“ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!”) as the band lets loose a barrage of music to overload the opponent(s). The raw sonic energy forms into a giant Yeti that delivers a devastating swipe. The cutscene ends and the opponent(s) is blasted away.

Extra Skill[]

Air Juggle: If Scott connects with his Scott Shoryuken punch, he’ll ‘lock-on’ to follow the opponent after launching them if their damage is 50% or higher. During this state, repeatedly tapping B will make Scott unleash continuous punches, extending the opponent’s hit-stun and vertical movement with every one. If Scott manages to land 7 punches he’ll finish with a final extrastrong punch that spikes the opponent down. The opponent can mash out of this attack, but escaping becomes more difficult with higher damage.

Unique Traits[]

If Scott lands the winning hit during a Stamina battle, a slowdown effect will be initiated; coins will spill out from around the defeated opponent, and the “KO!”affect will appear over the screen.
