Character Info[]

Rayman is a limbless person whose body parts float apart from each other and at times display their own sentience. Why exactly Rayman has no limbs isn’t fully known, but it seems to do with there being a lack of Lums when he was created by Betilla and her sisters. This lack of limbs however doesn’t stop Rayman from being a hero, in fact it kinda helps him as he’s able to perform feats that normal limbed beings are simply unable to such as throwing his hands or chest away from the rest of his body. Rayman is also able to absorb powers from Silver Lums and the various Fairies which help him to save the day from the threats of Mr. Dark, Andre, and even Dark Teensies.

General Information[]

Entrance[]

Rayman will be sitting on the ground asleep before suddenly waking up, leaping to his feet, and smiling broadly at the camera as a “shine” effect shimmers around him.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby will have Rayman’s distinctive hair on top of his head.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Rayman hungrily chows down on a piece of food. Like in Rayman Adventures, the food resembles a chicken drumstick slathered in honey. You'll hear him making some undignified sounds while he chows down.

Down Taunt: Rayman will take out his harmonica and play a quick couple notes on it.

Side Taunt: Rayman will quickly turn to face the camera and flash his trademark peace sign toward the screen while grinning widely and saying, “Yeah!”

Victory Poses[]

  1. Rayman will fly onto the results screen with his helicopter hair. Rayman will crash into Murfy before landing on the ground and waving a peace sign at the camera.
  2. Rayman will pose behind a cardboard cutout of a buff man. Rayman will end up accidentally knocking over the cut out and grin awkwardly towards the camera.
  3. Rayman and Globox are on-screen together, performing a secret handshake that consists of at least one low-five, two high-fives, and a belly-bump. The two will make some gleeful noises while doing so.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Telescopic Fist: Rayman will wind up his fist before punching forwards and sending his fist flying in front of him. Any of Rayman’s attacks that use this fist will be altered slightly to remove it (which depending on the attack may end up in it being weakened) until Rayman’s fist flies back and returns to him. Additionally, if Rayman’s fist is currently flying the air, he will only be able to use one of his hands for his Crawling Hand special. By charging up this move you can increase the range and damage of the punch up to two different levels. The first charge level is indicated by Rayman’s fist glowing blue and the second charge level is indicated by Rayman starting to wind up both fists with the two of them glowing red. At maximum charge his fists will fly through the air for about the same range as Min Min’s punch attacks as they deal significant damage and knockback.

Side Special[]

Crawling Hand: Rayman will throw one of his hands on the ground causing it to quickly crawl forwards of its own accord. If the hand makes contact with an item it will bring it back to Rayman (assuming Rayman doesn’t currently have an item). Alternatively, if the hand makes contact with an opponent instead, the hand will leap on them and hold them in place for a second or two while it squeezes them to deal light damage before pushing them away and going back to Rayman. Rayman is able to throw out both of his hands with independent button presses, but if Rayman is without a hand some of his attacks that use them will be weaker and if Rayman is without both of his hands (through the use of either this special or Telescopic Fist) then he won’t be able to do any move that requires his hands.

Up Special[]

Super Helicopter: Rayman’s hair will start to spin above his head like helicopter blades as he lifts off into the air. Using this special grants Rayman a degree of free flight as you are able to adjust his flight path by tilting the control stick in all directions, including back down, so long as you continue to hold down the special input. That said, Rayman can only fly for a short amount of time and the further away you tilt the control stick from straight up, the less time Rayman will be able to fly. During his flight, the top of Rayman’s head is able to damage opponents on contact as they are hit by his rapidly spinning hair. Luckily for them, the damage is minimal.

Down Special[]

Plum: From the earth, Rayman pulls out a giant plum! The plum is about as large as he is, and rounder in circumference. Rayman can use the plum as a barricade, a platform, or a projectile item. Throw it downwards, and you can use it to bounce up to new heights! Throw it or hit it in any direction, and it can be the world's most dangerous soccer ball. Eventually, the plum will explode upon impact, dealing damage akin to a bomb explosion. Occasionally, pieces of the plum will remain on the stage and can be eaten by anyone to regain a small amount of health.

Final Smash[]

Andre Surprise: Rayman will start off his Final Smash by winding up a big ‘ol punch and then let it loose to bash whoever is right in front of him. To Rayman’s great shock though, Globox will appear a short distance behind his opponent. While Rayman initially will be concerned thinking he just caused his friend harm, his worry will soon turn to horror as he sees Globox open up his large mouth just in time for Rayman’s foe to fly right in Globox’s mouth and be swallowed alive. From there we transition to a cinematic where the screen will initially be quite dark with Rayman’s opponent only barely visible. The click of a lightbulb will be heard after this showing Andre the black lum holding the string to a lightbulb before he lets go and slams one fist into his hand. Andre will then fly towards the opponent and give them a series of good walloping punches before an uppercut sends them flying back out of Globox’s stomach and out through his mouth as they fly towards the top of the screen and back into the field of battle.

Extra Skill[]

Murfy: Rayman calls upon the help of his pal Murfy the glow-fly, who will hover around in a relatively small space centered right in front of where Rayman was standing when this Extra Skill was activated. Murfy will freely fly around this airspace waiting for something to do. If an opponent enters Murfy’s space he will fly over towards them to smack them for light damage and knockback. If Murfy is positioned near a ledge and an opponent grabs onto the ledge, Murfy can fly over towards them and tickle them just enough to make them lose their grip and fall. Murfy can also act as a bit of a shield against weaker projectiles as he is capable of slapping them out of the air if they pass through his space. Before he leaves the stage, Murfy will wave at the screen (or give Rayman a high five if he’s close enough). Murfy can only be summoned every 30 seconds.

Unique Traits[]

Rayman is capable of wall jumping and can perform one extra short jump via his helicopter hair.
