Character Info[]
Rashid is the eldest son of an old aristocratic Middle Eastern family who left his home in search of a friend who was kidnapped by Shadaloo. Rashid’s journey to find his friend causes him to end up fighting several world warriors such as Ryu and Karin before eventually finding the man who kidnapped his friend. When Rashid learned that his friend had already been killed by F.A.N.G. he flew into a rage and attacked F.A.N.G. eventually defeating him with a little help from the recently un-brainwashed Marz.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
Rashid appears in a swirling tornado which disappears as he makes a couple kick attacks through it.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby will wear Rashid’s shemagh around his body and have Rashid’s green eyepiece over his left eye.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Rashid will face towards the screen and strike a wide-stance pose similar to his Street Fighter V taunt where he’ll cross his arms in front of him and stick his tongue out saying, “Yeah!”
Down Taunt: Rashid will perform a short breakdancing routine on the stage with little wisps of wind flying around his feet.
Side Taunt: Cloud-like streaks of wind will swirl all around Rashid’s body for a quick couple seconds similar to when he activates his V-Trigger in Street Fighter V.
Victory Poses[]
- Rashid will run in from the side of the screen performing a couple flips as he does until he reaches the middle of the screen and gestures towards the camera with one arm pointed straight forward and the other pulled back a bit, but also towards the camera similarly to his victory animation in Street Fighter V.
- Rashid will spin around in place on the screen as a tornado engulfs the lower half of his body. Rashid rises in the air laughing as the camera zooms in on his face.
- Rashid will be talking on his cellphone for a couple seconds before he grimaces and tosses the phone away. As he throws the phone Rashid will say, “That’s a wrap, folks!”
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Whirlwind Shot: Rashid will spin around and literally kick the air up as he turns back around. The wind he kicks manifests into a small Kirby-sized whirlwind that flies on a sharp arc up into the air. By tilting the control stick forwards the player is capable of influencing the whirlwind to fly further horizontally before it sharply turns upwards. This whirlwind only hits once and doesn’t fly a far distance however. Rashid is capable of firing two Whirlwind Shots back to back, and can even alter both of their trajectories with fast enough timing, making this a good account to throw out projectiles in different spots for your opponent to try and dodge around. In classic Street Fighter fashion the player is able to input the directional input for Whirlwind Shot from Street Fighter V to increase the distance that the whirlwind flies as well as cause the whirlwind to deal two hits of damage on impact instead of just one. These two hits will individually do less damage than the normal version of Whirlwind shot, but when combined deal roughly 1.5x the normal damage. The input to do so is ↓ ↘ → + attack button. This variant of Spinning Mixer also comes with the tell of Rashid yelling “Whirlwind Shot” and the Whirlwinds will also move faster than before.
Side Special[]
Eagle Spike: .Rashid will hold his arms back as if they were wings before launching himself in a straight line with a flying kick attack. This attack hits hard and is Rashid’s best damaging move of his specials. That said there is some identifying delay on it as Rashid gets into position to warn his opponents. Rashid is also capable of charging the attack to increase the distance on it from a minimum of 1/3rd of Final Destination all the way to the full length of Final Destination. If Rashid performs this special move while his back is against a wall he will actually push off the wall (and deal a minor amount of damage to it if the wall can be damaged such as on Luigi’s Mansion) before he flies forwards. Doing this will increase the amount of damage the attack deals by a small amount. When Rashid uses this move in the air he will dive downwards diagonally instead of flying straight forwards. If Rashid makes contact with the ground while using the aerial version of Eagle Spike, he is able to bounce off the surface with a well-timed press of the special button to continue his flight path for whatever distance it had left. In classic Street Fighter fashion the player is able to input the directional input for Eagle Spike from Street Fighter V to increase the damage of the attack. When performed this way the move’s distance will be capped at 2/3rds Final Destination. The input to do so is ↓ ↙ ← + attack/special buttons. This variant of Spinning Mixer also comes with the tell of Rashid yelling “Eagle Spike” as winds trail behind his flying body.
Up Special[]
Spinning Mixer: Rashid will extend his arms out to his sides as winds whip up around his body in the shape of a tornado propelling him upwards into the air. Tilting the control stick allows Rashid to angle his trajectory diagonally to a degree, but this cannot be used for pure horizontal movement. Opponents hit by the attack are hit by multiple small hits of damage and may be carried up along with Rashid if they were hit just right. When the attack is at its end Rashid will spin one last time to launch opponents away. In classic Street Fighter fashion the player is able to input the directional input for Spinning Mixer from Street Fighter V to increase the damage of each hit as well as the distance that Rashid is able to cover. The input to do so is ↓ ↘ → + special button. This variant of Spinning Mixer also comes with the tell of Rashid yelling “Spinning Mixer” and his tornadic winds will almost seem like they are more solid and somewhat watery.
Down Special[]
Ysaar: Rashid will seem to perform a short dance and spin about in place as he kicks up a tornado of wind which travels forwards slowly for a short distance. This tornado only deals a small amount of damage on contact, but it is both a projectile making it reflectable and it is able to reflect other projectiles as well at 1.2x damage. Rashid is only able to have one of these out on the stage at a time and if he tries to make a second, the first will dissipate. If two opposing Ysaar tornados clash, they will cancel each other out. Items that are in the tornado’s path will be picked up and carried before being scattered around haphazardly when the tornado peters out. While opponent’s cannot pass through the tornado, Rashid is able to walk right through it as if it weren’t even there making it a nice little shield that he can also attack through.
Final Smash[]
Altair: Rashid will spin and generate a tornado around his body which quickly consumes him and creates a tall column of tornadic winds that stretch above and below his body. For most stages this column will stretch to the top and bottom of the entire stage however for certain Very Large or Colossal stages like Ice Climber or Palutena’s Temple it might not quite reach either. This wind column only exists for a couple seconds and any opponent that makes contact with it becomes trapped within. These fighters will find themselves pulled into a cinematic with Rashid on a desert plain where they can be seen swirling through the wind column looking absolutely terrified and taking constant hits of damage. The camera will pan to Rashid who is controlling the tornado from within with a wide grin on his face. As this occurs the tornado will begin to recede and all the fighters who were trapped inside of it will be flung to the far reaches of wherever before the final smash comes to an end and transitions back to the fight.
Extra Skill[]
Front Flip: With an excited, “Yahoo!” Altair will perform a front flip as he leaps from the ground and propels himself forwards. This move is similar in essence to Zero Suit Samus’ Flip Jump however there are a few differences. The first is that Rashid sacrifices vertical distance for horizontal as he performs his flip. Rashid also does not do any damage with this attack, nor can he switch to another attack that homes on the opponent. The trade-off for this is that while the move is called “Front Flip”, Rashid is also capable of performing the move backwards if the control stick is tilted back just as Rashid begins the move. This makes Front Flip more of a recovery or utility move than a damaging attack.
Unique Traits[]
Rashid is capable of wall jumping and crawling against the stage. Like the other Street Fighter characters, if Rashid is in a 1-on-1 match or is one of two remaining fighters in a match, Rashid will always face in the same direction of his opponent.
