Stage Info[]

Pyrosphere, otherwise known as Sector 3 of the BOTTLE SHIP is a lava-filled zone consisting mostly of caves with a simulated desert area deep within. Samus first travels through here after being ordered by Adam to track down the Mystery Creature that had attacked her previously in the Biosphere. Samus battles several monsters through here such as the Vorash and Goyagma before eventually finding her greatest nightmare. As it turns out, the Mystery Creature, and Little Birdie before it, were younger forms of a cloned version of Ridley and she would have to face her greatest fear once again and put Ridley down in the fires of the Pyrosphere.

Stage Layout[]

Pyrosphere has a long flat main platform with two energy pods below its edges. These pods don’t mean anything for the actual fighters in the match, but they do mean something for the Stage Boss that can appear as the match goes on. This stage also has four small soft platforms which float above it. These platforms are arranged to have two platforms on each side floating over the edges. On the left side the lower platform is flush with the edge while the platform above it is slightly shorter and is closer to the center of the stage. On the right side of the stage the higher platform is flush with the edge while the lower platform is slightly longer and is closer to the center of the stage.

Hazards[]

FG II-Grahams[]

One of three enemy types that can spawn on the stage and act as opponents, FG II-Grahams are flying turrets that will fire on any fighter, or on the stage boss Ridley. FG II-Grahams will start out by flying down onto the stage from above and floating in the air through the use of their propels. If the FG II-Grahams are hit by an attack they will shoot their lasers forwards in a straight line. This allows the FG II-Grahams to be used as a setup by players to either get the the FG II-Grahams to attack their opponents, or Ridley.

Joulions[]

One of three enemy types that can spawn on the stage and act as opponents, Joulions are strange floating creatures with transparent skin making their inside visible. Joulions will drop down onto the stage from above and float in the air. After a time, Joulions will automatically inflate their bodies before exploding and damaging anything nearby with an electric blast. Joulions can be forced to explode early if they are attacked by a fighter and if this happens then the more damage that is inflicted upon them the higher amount of damage their explosion will deal.

Zeros[]

One of three enemy types that can spawn on the stage and act as opponents, Zeros have hard exoskeletons and are the larval form of Kihunters. Larvels will drop down hard onto the stage from above and from there they will just crawl along the floor. Zeros completely ignore the fighters and don’t need anything if they run into a fighter. A Zero’s only purpose is to be picked up by a fighter and thrown at which point they will do damage to whatever they hit.

Ridley[]

The cloned version of Ridley from Metroid: Other M features on this stage as a Stage Boss. Ridley will first spawn in by flying up from below the stage in the background before charging into the foreground towards a player. Ridley can be attacked and damaged by fighters and once he has taken enough damage he will fight alongside whichever fighter did the last hit to him. At that point, Ridley’s attacks will no longer specifically target or damage that fighter. The fighter can still attack Ridley however, as can everyone else, and if the fighters continue to attack Ridley then whoever deals the final blow will receive a KO point for defeating Ridley if they are playing in a Timed match. For more details about how Ridley works and what his attacks are, please see Ridley’s boss page.
