Character Info[]

When Rex touched the Aegis Blade he unknowingly awakened Pyra from her 500 year slumber. It was an unusual awakening for a few reasons, but perhaps the most important is that Rex was killed immediately after. However, as the legendary Aegis Pyra was able to save Rex and resurrected him using a part of her Core Crystal after Rex agreed to take her to Elysium so that she could speak with the Architect. Of course, with the Aegis awake suddenly everyone wanted a piece and it was up to Rex to get stronger and fight by Pyra’s side as her driver.

General Information[]

Entrance[]

Rex will drop down onto the stage and toss Pyra’s Aegis Blade to her with perfect timing as Pyra teleports in from the side. Once Pyra catches her sword, Rex will jump diagonally back up into the air and disappear as Pyra crosses her arm over her chest.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby will have Pyra’s red hair on top of his head complete with her ornamental jewelry.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Rex will teleport next to Pyra and pump his fist into the air cheering her on as he says, “Go, Pyra!”. Pyra will turn to Rex while he does this and wave at him while she giggles.

Down Taunt: Pyra will hold her sword in front of her, point towards the ground, as a blast of flames erupts behind her and she lets out a battle cry.

Side Taunt: Pyra will bend forwards slightly with one hand on her waist while she creates a small flame in her other hand’s palm. Pyra will say, “You’ll get burned.” before blowing out the flame.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Pyra will spin around as she tosses her Aegis sword up into the air and catches it on its way back down. Rex will teleport in with a jump and land next to Pyra as she does this. Pyra will say, “We did our best!” after she catches her blade and Rex will follow up with “Nice one, Pyra!”
  2. Pyra will hold her sword up in front of her before the camera pans to reveal Rex to her side. Pyra will hold out her sword to Rex as they both take hold of it and raise it high into the air as they both shout out a triumphant battlecry.
  3. Pyra will turn her back towards the camera as she instantly swaps into Mythra. Mythra will then spin around and swing her sword while swapping back into Pyra mid-swing. Pyra will finish the swing before posing with her sword in front of the camera. While this is happening, Pyra and Mythra will both say in unison, “This is the power of the Aegis!” with their voices alternating who you actually hear as they swap.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Flame Nova: Pyra will set her Aegis Sword behind her as she charges up some fire ether. Once ready, Pyra will telekinetically spin her sword around her to damage opponents next to her multiple times before following up with a blast of fire around her. This move can be charged up to both increase the amount of damage it does as well as it increase the number of times her sword spins around her, up to two more times, to inflict extra attacks. If Pyra’s sword connects it will end up drawing in opponents, ensuring that they can’t get away from the rest of the attack before it's over. If Pyra uses this move on the ground she will move slightly forwards to try and get that extra reach on her opponent.

Side Special[]

Blazing End: Pyra will telekinetically alight her Aegis Sword with flames and throw it forwards so that it spins vertically. The sword will stay in place for a few seconds to damage opponents multiple times however in that time Pyra will be unable to use her sword for any other attacks so be mindful. Pyra can also charge this move up to have it be thrown a greater distance. Once the move is done the Aegis Sword will stop spinning and return to Pyra, potentially damaging opponents on the way back much like the Boomerang.

Up Special[]

Prominence Revolt: Pyra’s sword will burn with flame as she leaps high into the air, swinging her sword in an uppercut-like motion as she goes. Pyra will immediately follow up by plunging straight down and create a flaming pillar upon impact with the ground. While this move doesn’t carry a fighter up with on the initial strike, they do get knocked up into the air a bit. Unless they’ve already taken a heavy amount of damage this will leave them perfectly in place to be hit by the follow up attack as Pyra returns downwards and creates a flaming pillar.

Down Special[]

Scorching Blast: Pyra will leap backwards into the air a short distance and unleash her own twist on Mythra’s “Radiance Bomb” art. Pyra will hold out her hand as a fireball manifests in front of it before firing the fireball down at a diagonal angle aiming roughly for a spot in front of where she was previously standing. If Pyra was already in the air when this move was activated then she won’t jump at all and will just fire the fireball at the same diagonal angle.

Final Smash[]

Burning Sword: Rex will leap in from nowhere, grabbing Pyra’s sword as he does, and swing it in front of him with a wide blazing slash against anyone in front of Pyra. Those hit will get knocked into a cinematic which sees Rex & Pyra both take hold of the Aegis Sword and raise it towards the sky before leaping up into the air and landing next to their opponent as they yell out, “Burning Sword!” The two will begin to swing the blade upwards just as the Final Smash transitions back from a cinematic and into the actual fight. The swing continues on the actual stage and is capable of damaging other fighters who were nearby as a massive flaming pillar erupts on the target dealing multiple hits of damage to both them and anyone that was above their position.

Extra Skill[]

Swap to Mythra: With a flash of flame and light, Pyra will instantly swap out for her counterpart Mythra who will continue the fight for Pyra.
