Item Info[]

In Pokemon there are 27 different kinds of Poke Balls that a Pokemon Trainer can use to capture Pokemon and store them in to be used in later battles. Moon Balls, Luxury Balls, and Dusk Balls are just a few examples. By far the most common though is the regular red & white Poke Ball. Poke Balls are the cheapest and most easily accessed by trainers of any age and it is them that all other Poke Balls are compared to.

Item Usage[]

In Smash there can be a maximum of 3 Poke balls on the stage at a time. This includes Pokemon that have already been summoned to the match. Even if one Poke ball is thrown and a Wobbuffet pops out of it, there can still only be 2 others on the stage in addition to Wobbuffet. When thrown Poke balls can summon forth any of the Pokemon programmed into the game of which there is a large variety. Pokemon are divided into three different rarities which help to determine which Pokemon will pop out of a ball. These are Common, Uncommon, and Rare. Generally speaking all Common Pokemon have the same relative chances of appearing as each other. The same goes for Uncommon Pokemon. Rare is a bit of a different story as even amongst the Rare rarity there are Legendary Pokemon which have a smaller chance to appear and then there is Mew that has the tiniest chance to appear of all Pokemon.

A current list of what Pokemon can be appear out of a Pokeball can be found here:
