Character Info[]
Orbulon is an eccentric alien who at one time held aspirations to conquer the Earth. However one day when flying in orbit, something struck Orbulon’s spaceship and caused him to crash down in Diamond City. During his time in Diamond City Orbulon met Wario who convinced him to stick around and make micro games for Wario. Eventually Orbulon decided to just stay in Diamond City and gave up on his plans to rule the planet. He’s a rather odd one though, even amongst the citizens of Diamond City, and once tried to get a fast food worker to cook up a group of pigs and turn them into hamburgers.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
Orbulon will crash land onto the stage in his ship the Oinker
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby will wear Orbulon’s shades and cape, as well as have a small protrusion coming out of the top of his head much like Orbulon’s own head.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Orbulon will place a graduation cap atop his head with one hand, and with the other hand he will point a finger up towards the sky and say, “High IQ!”
Down Taunt: Orbulon will (awkwardly) wave both his arms above his head with his hands outstretched and say, “Greetings Earthlings!”
Side Taunt: Tapping a foot against the ground, Orbulon will juggle a set of playing cards. If you zoom in closely you’ll recognize characters from WarioWare on the cards such as Wario as the King, Mona as the Queen, and Dr. Crygor as the Jack!
Victory Poses[]
- Orbulon will sit in his captain’s chair with a relaxed expression on his face as five space rabbits are massaging his shoulders and back as a reward for winning the match.
- Orbulon will be seen inside of the Oinker with several Little Hammies loaded up in his ship as he tries to take off into the skies. That said the ship is overloaded so it sparks and sputters as Orbulon tries to fly off.
- Orbulon will perform a dance move seeing him spinning in place before ending the pose with one hand on his hip and the other raised up high and pointing into the air.
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Blackhole Gun: Orbulon will pull out a small laser gun that seems to have a space bunny-like design to it. Orbulon will fire out a tiny ball of dark energy from the gun which weaves around similarly to Mewtwo’s Shadow Ball however this attack deals no damage. Either when this miniature black hole reaches the end of its range or it hits a fighter it will expand out into a considerably larger black hole that draws in anything and anyone that’s too close. Fighters, Items, and such are stuck in the gravitational pull similar to the Blackhole item. The range for this move is fairly short, however by charging up the attack you can increase the range that Orbulon fires this blackhole. Enemies trapped in the blackhole can struggle to escape, but the more damage they have on them the harder it will. Luckily for them they aren’t totally defenseless as they can still attack out of the blackhole.
Side Special[]
U.F.Roll: When the animation starts Orbulon will look like he’s about to take off running. However just as he’s about to start running Orbulon trips over his own feet and starts to roll forwards head first going straight forwards. This move can hit for fairly decent damage and knockback, and luckily for Orbulon he’ll stop at the edges of a platform unless he was in the air when he started the attack. If Orbulon impacts into another fighter with this move a fun little Strike! sound effect will play as if a bowling ball had just knocked down ten pins in one go.
Up Special[]
Oinker Flight: Orbulon will get inside of his spaceship, the Oinker, and enter into a form of flight. By holding down the Special Button Orbulon will rise up into the air and letting go of the Special Button will cause him to descend. Orbulon rises faster than he descends. Additionally you can tilt the control stick left or right for horizontal movement. Orbulon’s ship consumes fuel while using this move and after 10 seconds the fuel is used up which will cause Orbulon’s ship to disappear and him to enter a state of free fall. If the Oinker’s fuel is completely depleted, it takes 4 seconds for it to completely refuel and it only begins refueling after Orbulon lands on the stage and recovers from free fall.
Down Special[]
Asteroid Belt: A ring of asteroids, varying in size, will begin to fly around Orbulon’s body. They’ll shift and move around him, but they’ll always be in the shape of a ring. These asteroids unfortunately can’t be sent flying forwards or used to block projectiles like how Mega Man can use his Leaf Barrier, however they can damage other fighters on physical contact and be used to block melee attacks by hurting whoever attempted to hurt Orbulon. The damage the asteroids can do varies depending on how large the asteroid is that hit the opponent.
Final Smash[]
Abduction!: As his Final Smash begins, Orbulon will point upwards into the sky as a tractor beam appears from up off screen. The beam is thin at the top of the screen but gets wider as it goes down with it being centered on Orbulon. Orbulon, and any other characters who are in the beam at the time will begin to be slowly lifted into the air for a couple seconds before quickly zooming up over the screen. From here a cutscene begins featuring Orbulon and any of the characters who were caught in the beam aboard Orbulon’s spaceship the Oinker. The Oinker is seen quickly flying through space before it hits a meteorite knocking it off course and crashing towards a giant planet-like monster, the Space Monster Gabriel. As the ship gets too close Gabriel’s giant maw will open as it eats the ship and swallows it whole. The cutscene ends with Orbulon barely escaping from his ship in time as the cutscene transitions back into the fight with any of the characters who were caught in the tractor beam being sent flying from their original positions heavily damaged.
Extra Skill[]
Shoulder Rub: You must hold down the Extra Skill button to use this. If you simply tap it then you will receive no benefits from doing this. When Orbulon’s Extra Skill is activated his captain’s chair will appear behind him as he takes a seat and faces towards the screen. As this happens an Alien Bunny will be seen behind Orbulon as it begins to give him a shoulder massage. Every so many seconds another Alien Bunny will appear to help out with the massage. The longer the player holds down the button and allows Orbulon to get a massage, the more benefits they will receive. If you let go of the button after 2 seconds Orbulon will receive a boost to his speed stat. If you hold on, a second Alien Bunny will join the massage at that point and if you can keep holding the button for another 2 seconds (total of 4) and then let go then Orbulon will receive a boost to both his speed and jumping capabilities. Following that a third Alien Bunny will join the massage and you can keep holding the button for another 4 seconds (total of 8) to receive a boost to Orbulon’s speed, jump, and attack stats. From there another a fourth bunny arrives and if you hold onto the button for another 5 seconds (total of 13) before letting go Orbulon will get a boost to his speed, jump, attack, and defense stats. Finally at that point if you have kept holding onto the button a fifth Alien Bunny will join the rest in giving Orbulon a massage. Continuing to hold the button down from here for a final 7 seconds (total of 20) will result in Orbulon receiving a boost to his speed, jump, attack, and defense stats as well as being healed of 20% damage. No matter how long you hold down the Extra Skill button, the stat benefits will last for 10 seconds and you cannot use this move again until the stat boost has run its course.
