Enemy Info[]

One of the most recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda, Octoroks are an octopus like enemy best known for hiding in the ground and shooting rocks at anyone who gets too close to them. Several varieties of the Octorok exist including flying, big, and snow variants that Link has to defeat on his way to defeat Ganon or whatever the current threat to the world is.

Fight Pattern[]

In Smash, there exist two variants of the Octorok enemy. The first is the regular version as seen in the attached picture. These Octoroks can be found in grassy areas where at first all you will see is a small bush sticking out of the ground.

Water Octorok

The second variant is the Water Octorok. The only difference between both Octorok variants is where they are encountered. While regular Octoroks are found in the grass, Water Octoroks are found in the water. Similarly Water Octoroks will also have a tuft of grass above their head that sticks out of the water.

If a player survives an Octorok's attack and gets within melee distance of the attack the Octorok will reuse to pop back out of the ground in fear of it's own safety. The Octoroks can only be defeated with projectile attacks from a distance or by reflecting their own rocks back at them with a well-timed defense or shield.

Attacks[]

Rocks[]

While they initially stay hidden under their grass, when a Player gets close to an Octorok of either variant they will pop up out of their hiding place and quickly shoot a rock out from their mouths at the player. The Octorok only sticks around long enough to see if their rock hit the target before hiding back down where they were.
