Character Info[]
Mythra is the Aegis, a legendary Blade among Blades capable of immense power. She was originally awoken by Addam in order to stop Malos, the other Aegis, from destroying everything he could touch. After a mix of tragedy and a belief that the job was done, Mythra put herself to sleep only to be reawakened 500 years later by a young boy named Rex. As it turned out, Malos was back and Mythra was needed to help stop him once more, at her great reluctance.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
Rex will drop down onto the stage and toss Mythra’s Aegis Blade to her with perfect timing as Pyra teleports in from the side. Once Mythra catches her sword, Rex will jump diagonally back up into the air and disappear as Mythra holds out an arm forwards.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby will have Mythra’s blonde hair on top of his head complete with her ornamental jewelry.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Rex will teleport next to Mythra and pump his fist into the air cheering her on as he says, “Come on, Mythra!”. Mythra will turn to Rex while he does this and wave just once at him while she quietly chuckles.
Down Taunt: Mythra will turn her back to the camera as the wind blows through her hair. As this occurs, Mythra will say, “Think you can take me?”
Side Taunt: Mythra will place her sword behind her while spreading out her arm in front of her and conjuring a small burst of light. As she does this Mythra will say, “Prepare yourself.”
Victory Poses[]
- Mythra will swing her blade towards the camera three times as Rex teleports in behind her. As Mythra swings she will say, “Called it” which Rex will follow up with “You show ‘em, Mythra!”
- Mythra will use Photon Edge to quickly warp around to various points around the screen at lightspeed. As she warps, Rex will teleport in and raise his fist just as Mythra ends her warping next to him. At the end of this, Mythra will say “Peak form.”
- Mythra will give the camera a look before she instantly swaps into Pyra. Pyra will then spin in place and swing her sword as she transforms back into Mythra mid-swing. Mythra will finish up by posing with her blade in front of the camera. While this is happening, Mythra and Pyra will both say in unison, “This is the power of the Aegis!” with their voices alternating who you actually hear as they swap.
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Lightning Buster: Mythra will raise her Aegis Sword into the air and charge up light energy around it before unleashing a series of slashes right in front of her. Perhaps curiously the initial raising of the sword has its own hitbox allowing it to hit enemies and when Mythra begins making her slash attacks the first one is capable of hitting opponents that are immediately behind Mythra and dragging them in front of her so that they can be hit by the rest of the attack. Beyond that though, the rest of the attacks will all only hit in front of Mythra. This attack can be charged up to increase the damage and range of Mythra’s slashes as well as adding an extra slash or two to the attack.
Side Special[]
Photon Edge: Mythra will charge ahead at lightspeed as she performs a series of dashing slash attacks that at first glance seem to be happening randomly. In truth, Mythra starts out with a dash forwards before teleporting back and following up with a diagonal slice through the air before repeating the process and teleporting back then slashing at a different diagonal angle. This continues for a few rapidly done slashes before Mythra ends it with one final horizontal slash. By the end of the move Mythra will have performed five total slashes and moved just slightly forwards, but with the way the move works she’s capable of attacking a wide area of the stage making this attack great for hitting groups.
Up Special[]
Ray of Punishment / Chroma Dust: While this attack is a two-for-one special, both options initially begin the same way. Mythra will leap up into the air with an uppercut slash as she flips through the air before performing either Ray of Punishment or Chroma Dust.
Mythra will perform Ray of Punishment if the Up Special input was merely tapped. At the height of Mythra’s jump she will fire a single blast of yellow-green light at a downwards diagonal angle which will burst out into a small flashing aoe on impact.
Mythra will instead perform Chroma Dust if the Up Special input was held down, or repeatedly tapped. At the height of Mythra’s jump she will fire five small daggers of cyan and yellow light at the same angle of Ray of Punishment. Chroma Dust however will spread and fan out allowing Mythra to hit a larger area, however each dagger of Chroma Dust deals less damage and do not burst into aoes.
Down Special[]
Blinding Flash: Mythra will leap a short distance forwards and roll through the air as she spins her Aegis Sword forwards in a downwards arc. This attack hits in a wide arc in front of Mythra while having the nice benefit of carrying her forwards and can deal a high amount of damage to other fighters. Compared to Photon Edge it deals quite a bit more damage on impact though for a significantly shorter range. Be careful when using it in the air though as the attack will carry Mythra down to the ground and could potentially KO her.
Final Smash[]
Sacred Arrow: Rex will leap in from nowhere, grabbing Mythra’s sword as he does, and swing it in front of him with a wide blinding slash against anyone in front of Mythra. Those hit will get knocked into a cinematic which sees Rex & Mythra both take hold of the Aegis Sword and raise it towards the sky as they yell out, “Sacred Arrow!” A beam of light will launch up from the sword and into the sky as the Final Smash transitions back from a cinematic and into the actual fight. From here, several blasts of light will fall from the sky, and fan out to a degree, with the opponent being the main point they are aiming for. This will end with one final large beam firing straight down from above which launches the fighter away. Other fighters who are nearby can also be hit by the blasts of light so if they’re smart they’ll keep away.
Extra Skill[]
Swap to Pyra: With a flash of light and flame, Mythra will instantly swap out for her counterpart Pyra who will continue the fight for Mythra.
Unique Traits[]
Mythra has a unique dodge ability called Foresight that can be activated if she performs a dodge at just the right moment before an opponent can land an attack on her. If it is performed correctly, then Mythra will seem to warp with lightspeed backwards as she takes half the damage from the attack and no knockback. In return the fighter who attempted to harm Mythra will be inflicted with a Slowdown effect for a short time allowing Mythra a chance to respond.
