Item Info[]

Mutagens are idiosyncratic cells found in mutants, monsters, and those with elder blood. Notably, they are extracted by witchers like Geralt of Rivia to enhance their combat skills. Mutagens offer a number of different enhancements to a witcher's body when used, and are even essential to the creation of new witcher pupils. These are more standard mutagens. In The Witcher, blue mutagens increase sign intensity, green mutagens increase vitality, and red mutagen increase attack power.

Item Usage[]

In Smash, though, they operate a tad differently. Blue mutagens will increase a fighter's defense, making it harder to knock them around for a block of time. Green mutagens will, indeed, heal the user, representing a vitality boost. Red mutagens, too, will operate more similarly to their Witcher counterparts, ticking the strength of its user's attacks up for a few moments.

Whatever mutagen appears on-stage will always begin in its lesser form—the smaller, least considerable version of itself. Give it a few seconds, and it will grow into its standard form—its two individual cells will mesh together, growing a large ring around them. Give it a few seconds more? And, yep, they'll become greater mutagens. These mutagens stand about as large as Kirby and offer significant boosts in defense, healing, or attack.

For instance, the green mutagen will heal at 10% in its lesser form, 20% in its standard form, and 50% in its greater form. The blue mutagen will increase a fighter's defense by 1.2x, then 1.5x, and finally 1.8x. The red mutagen will increase their attack power by 1.2x, then 1.5x, and finally 1.8x for a window of time.
