Boss Info[]

ST-84 Metal Gear, often regarded as Sahelanthropus, is a nuclear-armed bipedal tank of hulking stature. It was produced by Huey Emmerich and the Soviety Union for use by the XOF, headed by Skull Face. Its armor is composed of depleted uranium, carrying about 23 tons of it on its body.

Boss Fight Details[]

Although Sahelanthropus remains mostly stationary throughout the fight, looming over fighters as it surveys the stage, it will leap off between the background and foreground for certain attacks. When it does step around, they are deliberate and forceful and in themselves could cause heavy damage and potentially ground its foes.

Attacks[]

Archaea Grenades[]

Sahelanthropus kneels down, shooting three archaea grenades from its launcher. They will reach the foreground in disarray, exploding at seemingly random spots on the stage. They are about twice the size of Bob-ombs while packing about the same punch. When they explode, it will be in a inward-looking boom of gray and silver biological shrapnel. The archaea lingers behind for around 10 seconds following the explosion, acting as a temporary, ball-shaped platform that can be traveled upon or knocked away.

Archaea Blades[]

Sahelanthropus lifts both of its arms into the air, activating its built-in nano-fiber blades. It then slashes them downwards in an "X" shape that is roughly the size of Rathalos. The "X" lingers in a fiery metallic sheen for about a second following the attack, dishing out additional damage to anyone that touches it. The initial slash is a heavy-hitter, being an instant shield-breaker with high knockback.

Leap[]

Sahalenthropus leaps further into the background, perching itself on top of a rock or other structure while regaining its composure. During this moment, it can summon Surveillance Mines or use the Guided Missile Launcher. When it jumps back to its standard position, a large red circle will appear denoting its landing spot. If a fighter is found within this circle when Sahelanthropus lands, they'll be dished out heavy damage, potentially breaking their shield, grounding them, or sending them flying.

Surveillance Mines[]

Floating probes roughly the size of a Beastball will float erratically throughout the stage. If they target a fighter with their scanning mechanisms, they will hone-in on their foe and attempt to ram into them, exploding upon impact. These deal about half as much damage as Sahelanthropus' archaea grenades. Up to three surveillance mines can be on-stage at a time. They will appear more often as Sahelanthropus' health begins to dwindle. When it gets to one-third of its health bar, up to five surveillance mines might appear at a time.

Guided Missile Launcher[]

Sahelanthropus kneels back down, this time sputtering a couple of times before shooting a barrage of six guided missiles. They fly upwards from the background into the foreground, homing-in on opponents and dishing out concurring damage similar to Galleom's missiles.

Twin Gatling Guns[]

Sahelanthropus swaps its blades out for gatling guns, shooting them in an erratic spray throughout the stage. They dish out persistent doses of damage at a time and are fast-moving enough to penetrate some rolls and dodges.

Frontline Flamethrower[]

It has a flamethrower in its groin, and it knows how to use it! Sahalenthropus deliberately walks to and fro on the stage, letting its flames spray down onto the stage and dishing out damage similar to Giga Bowser's Fire Breath in the process. Occasionally, it will spin around, letting the flames surround it during its onslaught.

Railgun[]

Sahelanthropus alters one of its gatling guns into a railgun, focusing a reticle on its opponent that, if it lands, will dish out massive artillery that dishes out significant damage and knockback.
