Stage Info[]
While this stage is generically named just Super Mario Galaxy, it primarily uses the design of the Gateway Galaxy location with a few tweaks. Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D mainline Mario game on the Wii that featured Mario going into space and exploring different planets and galaxies which served as the levels the player needed to clear. The game also featured unique gravity mechanics that allowed Mario to walk all around a planet and jump from one planet to another so long as he doesn’t fall into a black hole.
Stage Layout[]
This stage is very unique as the ground you are fighting on is curved just like the planets in Super Mario Galaxy. Fighters can jump and move through the air like they would on other stages, however when running on the ground they will follow the planet’s curve. Additionally, most projectiles or thrown items will follow the curvature of the planet as well though there are a few exceptions such as Robin’s Thoron and Fox McCloud’s Blaster which will continue to fire in a straight line.
There are also two small soft platforms on the left and right side of the stage. The leftmost platform is a little higher up than the platform on the right and both platforms are appropriately curved as well to fit the design of the stage.
