Item Info[]
The Beretta 92 is an Italian semi-automatic pistol with plenty of history in the U.S. Armed Forces, including FOXHOUND. Its fragile design stirred controversy in the military industrial complex and it was ultimately discarded for its stronger contemporaries. That said, both Snake and Raiden have been known to modify this weapon, altering it into the M9 Tranquilizer Pistol. Its non-lethal ammo has become a staple in the Metal Gear franchise, stunning opponents and putting them to sleep—literally, not metaphorically.
Item Usage[]
Upon picking up the M9, the fighter can shoot it up to three times before they toss it aside. It is loaded with three minute tranquilizer darts that are fired off as quickly and far-reaching as Sheik's needles. One dart shot into an opponent will put them to sleep in about five seconds' time, though shots can be stacked to put them to sleep quicker and for longer. A headshot means immediate, potent sleep for the unlucky foe.
