Character Info[]
We first meet Leon Scott Kennedy as a rookie Raccoon City police officer. Late for his first day on the job, he walks straight into a zombie outbreak! Along with Claire Redfield and Ada Wong, Leon defeats T-00 and becomes an agent for the U.S. federal government by the events of Resident Evil 4. A breakout hit on the Nintendo GameCube, Leon became a major face of the Resident Evil series following his appearance in this flagship title. Since, this acrobatic officer has made a series of appearances throughout all manner of Resident Evil media.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
Leon sneaks out of a beat-up wooden door, ready to fight.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby grows out some of Leon's luscious locks.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Leon lobs his survival knife into the air, well over his head. A moment later, he nonchalantly catches it.
Down Taunt: Leon retrieves his communicator, and states bruskly into it, "Targets have been neutralized."
Side Taunt: A Resident Evil 4-style item box appears in front of Leon's foot and he kicks it to break it open. Unfortunately, nothing's inside. Leon exaggeratedly shrugs before returning to the fight.
Victory Poses[]
- Leon sits down at a chair beside an end-table with a typewriter on it, and he gets to typing.
- A zombie sidles towards Leon and, just as it's about to nab 'em, he turns around and roundhouse kicks it. Leon says "humph" as the zombie falls to the floor.
- Leon spins his pistol around his finger before returning it to his holster, saying "Game over."
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
P.R.L. 412: It might look more like a janky Mega Buster than anything, but the P.R.L. 412 is Leon's, and no one can take that away from him! A rare weapon in Resident Evil 4, this powerful gun is capable of shooting pulsing laser beams that are awfully powerful against those infected by the T-Virus. Here, the pseudo-arm cannon works in similar ways. On initial use, Leon will cock the gun and prep it for fire, shooting out a quick-moving beam that pulses as it travels towards opponents. It's hefty, stunning foes in a way akin to Zero Suit Samus' Paralyzer, but with more "oomph". The move can be charged, but it won't send out a stronger beam as a result. Instead, it will shoot up to two additional beams of equal attribute both upwards and behind Leon, alongside the one shot in front of him.
Side Special[]
Chainsaw: Leon revs up the trademark Ganado's chainsaw, ferociously slashing in a forwards, upwards arc with it. If it makes contact with another character, a special zoom will activate at the apex of the hit, and chances are this foe will be sent flying. Leon will actually keep a hold of the chainsaw after this initial move, and it can be used as a melee weapon in conjunction with his standard, aerial, and Smash attacks. Once it runs out of gas, Leon will drop the chainsaw and it will disappear. Given the devastating damage that its initial blow bears, alongside its furthered utility thereafter, chainsaw cannot be summoned for five seconds following a use. The chainsaw will run out of gas after enough direct usage, or if it is left on for too long (roughly 10 seconds).
Up Special[]
Hookshot: Leon shoots his hookshot gun directly upwards, like Bionic Commando. If it latches on to an applicable platform, he'll be able to pull himself up. As with most tether recoveries, tilting up on the control stick will see Leon automatically make it to the top of his tether. The hook itself can sink into any opponents who get in the way. If it does connect with one of them, Leon will leap towards the opponent's position and dropkicks them towards the floor whilst in mid-air. Holding the Up Special inputs while in-place will show a Resident Evil 4-styled arrow pointing in the direction that Leon would like to shoot the hookshot. It's an omnidirectional device, so it can be shot in eight directions. Should it connect, it'll take Leon left, right, up, down, and beyond!
Down Special[]
Flamethrower: Leon whips out his handy flamethrower. So long as the special attack button is held and the thing's got ammo, he'll extend a spray of flames that can reach about four Kirbys out at max power. Like Bowser's Fire Breath, its power and range will dissipate over time, and it will eventually need to be given a break before it can work properly again. Whilst holding the flamethrower, Leon can walk and run around the stage like the best of 'em, and even aim the flamethrower anywhere within a full 360 degree scope.
Final Smash[]
Hasta Luego: Leon performs a roundhouse kick that would make Chuck Norris blush. Anyone that this hit connects with will be taken into a quick cinematic. Transported to the freight yard that keen Resident Evil 4 fans will recognize as its final boss area, opponents will look on in fear as Leon smirks, prepping his grenade launcher. The camera zooms in on Leon and his weapon as he mutters "Hasta Luego" and lets a red rocket rip, and it dynamically follows the rocket as it steams away, barreling towards its foes with supreme accuracy. Naturally, an explosion occurs, and Leon's foes are sent flying in every direction as we return from the cinematic.
Extra Skill[]
Zombie: A zombie pops up from behind Leon, but he sidesteps it and throws it ahead of him before it can successfully lurch forward and take a bite from out of him. Instead, the wandering, addle-minded enemy might instead take a bite out of his opponents! Ideally, an opponent will be directly in front of Leon when he activates this move, allowing for the zombie to immediately latch onto them and gnaw away, sapping away health in ReDead-esque fashion. After a few moments, the opponent will shake free, but they might be left with a poison or confusion status effect in its wake. If it can't find a character to latch onto at first, it'll slowly skulk to its left or right, on the hunt. It isn't very bright, though, and will walk right off of a cliff if given the right opportunity. Leon isn't immune to the zombie, either; if he isn't careful, it could attack him!
The zombie, being made of rotting flesh and all, is easy to dispatch. Leon will have to wait 5 seconds after the previous zombie has disappeared or been KO’d before summoning another. The zombie can also be summoned in mid-air, though it’ll fall straight towards the ground instead of having Leon shove it forward. If it falls too far, it’ll fall flat on its face. It’ll either take a moment to get up, or instead crawl along the floor towards its prey instead.,. or, just maybe, it will have just flat-out KO’d itself!
The zombie might look like any number of Raccoon City residents from Resident Evil 2, or one of the villagers from Resident Evil 4.
Unique Traits[]
Leon is capable of crawling and wall jumping.
