Boss Info[]
A quartet of costumed ninja Koopa Troopas who are members of Bowser’s Koopa Troop. They have a fortress of their own where they await Mario’s arrival in order to thwart him from rescuing Eldstar who Bowser left in their capable “care”.
Boss Fight Details[]
This boss fight occurs over two phases. The first sees the playing fighting against a hilariously fake cardboard version of Bowser which rolls around on wheels. This first phase is painfully easy to fight and is meant to lull players into a false sense of security.
When the fake Bowser is broken apart and destroyed phase 2 begins and things really ramp up. At this point, the four Ninjakoopas burst out and each initiates their own attack cycle. With the different attacks the Koopa Bros. use and the fact that there are four of them on the field at a time it can make it very difficult to keep track of the fight and avoid getting hit. The four Koopa Bros. all have their own health meter meaning they all must be defeated.
The Yellow Ninjakoopa deals the most amount of knockback, but has the least amount of health.
The Black Ninjakoopa has the most amount of health, but deals the least amount of damage.
The Red Ninjakoopa deals the most amount of damage, but is the slowest.
The Green Ninjakoopa is the fastest, but takes the most amount of knockback.
Attacks[]
Bowser Smash[]
This is the only attack that the false Bowser can use in this fight. It simply consists of “Bowser” swinging his arms in front of him to knock the player around. They do minimal damage and knockback.
Shell Toss[]
The Ninjakoopa uses this attack will retreat into their shell before zooming forward towards the player. Knockback will send the player up into the air leaving them open to a Ninja Strike attack. This move can only be initiated if the Ninjakoopa is on the ground of the stage.
Ninja Strike[]
For this attack the Ninjakoopa using it will leap up into the air before diving towards the player at a more diagonal angle. They aim for them just slightly but have no tracking properties on this attack. Once they choose their angle and dive towards it with their sword drawn they’re locked into it.
Ninjakoopa Special[]
The strongest attack that the Koopa Bros. have, this move can be used so long as there are at least 2 Ninjakoopas still in the fight. The remaining Ninjakoopas will each retreat into their shells and stack up on top of each other. The Koopa Bros. will race forwards as a single unit spinning around rapidly as they close in on the player. Their swords poke out through their shells for this attack. This attack isn’t built for high knockback but is instead meant to repeatedly damage a player in their path with rapid attacks.
