Character Info[]

Isa Jo is a skilled soldier who initially worked for the Nebulox and sent to Earth 4 to assassinate an alien lifeform known as Kachi. Choosing instead to befriend her, he is branded a traitor and the pair find themselves on the run. As the son of Saki Amamiya he carries a type of blood that can cause him to morph into a mindless monster; thankfully, Kachi’s spirit helps him keep a grip on his sanity.

Entrance[]

Isa descends and deactivates his levitation unit, landing on the stage and unholstering his Dolphin Gun.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby gets a mop of Isa’s sandy-coloured hair and a small levitation unit on his back (which is only there for show).

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Isa hovers slightly off the ground, crossing his arms and legs and resting his chin on his fist before dropping back down.

Down Taunt: Isa spins his gun around and holsters it with a quick fist bump in respect to his opponent, then pulls it back out.

Side Taunt: Isa fiddles with his gun, activating its energy blade and then deactivating it.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Isa blasts rapidly at a target off camera. He stops and holds up his gun with the other hand on his hip, cowboy-style.
  2. Isa deflects a missile with his blade, backflips to avoid another one and then lands in a crouching position looking up into the camera.
  3. Isa and Kachi high-five while floating in midair, then aim their respective guns at the camera.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Dolphin Gun: Isa uses his Dolphin Gun to shoot a blue bolt of energy. Repeatedly tapping the button will make Isa shoot a rapid-fire stream of bolts. These bolts are similar to Fox’s blaster shots in that they don’t make opponents flinch, though each deals significantly less damage due to the gun’s greater firing rate.

Alternatively, the bolt can be charged by holding the special button; a fully charged shot won’t travel as far as the regular bolts but will deal greater damage and knockback, and will explode in a wide radius after a certain distance even if it doesn’t strike an opponent. Fully charging a shot takes about three seconds; letting go of the button mid-charge will result in a normal bolt.

Side Special[]

Dolphin Slash: Isa activates the energy blade on his Dolphin Gun and delivers a quick slash. If he makes contact with an opponent he can follow up with two additional slashes, similar to Cloud’s Cross Slash. The move also reflects projectiles back at opponents.

Up Special[]

Levitation Unit: Isa uses the levitation unit on his back to hover in the air. The recovery functions similar to how Pit’s Wings of Icarus worked in Brawl, able to move in any direction and be carried by inertia. The recovery lasts roughly 7 seconds, during which Isa can use Dolphin Gun, Dolphin Slash, switch to Free-Aim (see Down Special section) as well as Air Evade (see Extra Skill section). He does not enter a free fall state afterwards, able to keep using midair attacks while falling.

Down Special[]

Free-Aim: While grounded, Isa widens his stance and locks himself in place; during this state an aiming reticle appears in front of him which he can use to aim his shots. The reticle can be moved around himself within a limited radius to fire at opponents. Fired bolts travel to the reticle’s position and will deal greater damage to opponents while the reticle overlaps them, allowing for greater aiming control but demanding higher precision. Charge shots can also be aimed, but the reticle speed becomes slower while charging/fully charged (a circular blue meter surrounds the reticle and fills during the charging period).

Pressing the standard attack button while in free aim lets Isa use a variation of Dolphin Slash, allowing him to deflect most projectiles and redirect them toward the reticle’s position. For example, using Free-Aim to aim the reticle above Isa and slashing at a projectile sent from the right will redirect its trajectory and send it shooting above him.

Free-Aim also works during recovery, with Isa locking himself in place midair to aim with the reticle. Players should be mindful of the levitation unit’s energy, which upon depleting will make Isa begin falling while locked in his aiming stance. Mid-air Free-Aim can be cancelled by pressing the Shield button, which will not count as an air dodge.

Final Smash[]

Ruffian Morph: Isa signals for Kachi, who appears behind him and zips ahead on her hoverboard to deliver a fierce roundhouse kick, trapping any opponents she hits in a cinematic finisher. Isa absorbs Kachi’s spirit and in a flash transforms into his massive Ruffian form. He charges at the opponent, slashing with his claws before firing a large beam with his cannon for massive damage. The cutscene ends and sends the opponent flying sideways.

Extra Skill[]

Air Evade: Isa’s prowess in the air allows him to have a greater degree of air dodging. During his recovery with the Levitation Unit, Isa can perform up to three rolling dodges in any direction at no cost to his recovery time. Dodging in midair when not recovering (or after the levitation unit’s energy has been depleted) will make Isa perform a regular air-dodge.
