The Golden Temple is the final challenge in Donkey Kong Country Returns and can only be accessed once the Kongs have collected the eight Rare Orbs from the secret temples around the island. When Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong first make it to the Golden Temple they find a large Golden Banana and begin eating it. This leads to the Kongs being transported into the skies where they must jump across a series of floating fruit (and dodge falling fruit) in order to make it to the end and escape.

The Golden Temple features a Battlefield-sized platform with two large banana statues as well as a statue of a monkey’s head sitting on the platform in the background. Floating below and to the side of this platform are two large bananas which can be used as platforms. Fighters should be wary as the bananas will react to both weight and movement which can cause the bananas to sway or even flip upside down which would dump anything on top of them down below. It’s best not to rely on them, but they can be helpful.

Additionally, three Strawberry platforms will occasionally rise up into the sky to float around the Golden Temple. These strawberries are rather small with a minimal amount of room on them for fighting. These strawberries won’t stay around forever, roughly 20-25 seconds at a time, before they will begin to descend and disappear once again. The strawberries can also be attacked and destroyed which will cause them to burst into some nice fruity juice.
