Giygas is the evolution of Giegue, an alien who raised by Ninten's grandparents, George and Maria. When George stole the secrets of PSI and imparted them unto the human race, Giegue was tasked by his people to destroy humankind. In his quest for vengeance against Ninten and, later, Ness, Giegue becomes Giygas, a godlike entity of unfathomable form whose mere presence causes violence and distress in his peers.
Spirit Battle[]
The battle begins against Mewtwo on Fourside. As the player cannot grasp the true form of Giygas' attack, the player will take small percentages of damage every several seconds at an undeterminable, random rate. Defeating Mewtwo summons Porky Minch to the stage, and once the player defeats him, a giant red Ridley will fall from the sky. Giant Ridley taunts often, representing Giygas' monologues, and has 1.2x the power that he normally would. Besides racking up random amounts of damage at random moments in time, Giygas' ungraspable form will also invoke status effects every so often, like reverse controls and screen-flipping. When Giant Ridley racks up over 100% damage, he will garner an ethereal glow, marking his power that is now 1.5x more than the average.
