Used by the Federation Marines, the Freeze Guns were first authorized by Commander Adam Malkovich in order to help Samus defeat the Brug Mass. From then on the Marines were allowed to continue using these weapons as the equivalent to Samus' own Ice Beams. They're powerful enough to freeze someone to death as well as disable Samus' Power Suit as seen when Adam used one to prevent Samus from entering Sector Zero.
Item Usage[]
The Freeze Gun has two functions. With a single tap of the attack button a hard ice spike will be fired out and striking an opponent from a distance. This attack cannot freeze anyone but it does serve as a nice long-range attack. Alternatively if one holds down the attack button the Freeze Gun will instead fire a stream of frozen energy as a short range attack (similar to the range of the Fire Flower item). Using the weapon in this manner causing it to deal a smaller amount of damage but it can also freeze an opponent in a block of ice. Either way you do it, this weapon has a limited amount of charges and once depleted your character will simply toss it away.
