Assist Trophy Info[]
These Ducks come straight out of the game Duck Hunt and retain their 8-bit NES forms. In Duck Hunt, the player uses the Zapper peripheral to point at the screen and shoot at the ducks that are flying on the screen. If they succeed, then the duck will fall to the ground where it is picked up by the player’s loyal dog. If they fail to shoot the ducks however then their dog will appear anyway and laugh at their failure. The Ducks meanwhile have escaped to safety where they hope to never be shot at again.
Mode of Assistance[]
When the Assist Trophy is popped open 6-10 Ducks will come flying out of it depending on the size of the stage. The Ducks will fly somewhat erratically around the screen, but will all have the general goal of flying up and away into the sky. The Ducks deal a small amount of damage on contact with other fighters and will seem to “bounce” off of them as they continue flying through the air. After a set amount of time, if any Ducks have failed to fly away off screen and are essentially trapped, then all remaining Ducks will disappear with a blast from a Zapper appearing on the screen and shooting down all remaining Ducks. This shot from the Zapps is also a small aoe that can damage nearby fighters, but it’s fairly tightly centered on the Ducks.
The Ducks can also be attacked and KO’d by the players. While they are immune to knockback, they don’t have a lot of health which makes them easy to KO. However unlike other KO’able Assist Trophies, the Ducks do not award any KO points.
