Assist Trophy Info[]

Indrick Boreale was the Commander of the Blood Ravens Chapter of Space Marines. A charismatic figure, Boreale favoured a tactic called ‘Steel Rain’ which made extensive use of Drop Pods to overwhelm the enemy, in place of static defence systems like turrets. Unfortunately, Boreale ultimately perished alongside many Blood Ravens in the disastrous Kaurava Campaign. Nevertheless, his rise to prominence during his service continued to inspire many, and he appears in Smashtopia to once again rally the troops (even if most aren’t Space Marines in the traditional sense).

Mode of Assistance[]

Commander Boreale is unique in that he only has a chance of being summoned during Team Battles. Upon appearing, Boreale stands in place and earnestly delivers a modified version of his memeworthy speech before disappearing:

“Smash Brothers! Today the enemy is at our door. We know our duty and we will do it. We fight for our honour as Space Marines… and we fight in the name of the Emperor! And if we die this day we die in glory. But we shall not die - No! It is the enemy who will taste death and defeat, as you know! We have placed numerous beacons, allowing for multiple, simultaneous, and devastating defensive deep strikes. Meanwhile, our ground forces will ensure the full defence of our headquarters. We are the Smash Brothers! We are the Emperor’s Fury!”

During his spiel, Boreale is susceptible to damage from opponents but won’t flinch thanks to his heavy armor. He can be KO’d, though it is fairly difficult. His grand presence will inspire an offensive buff to the team that summoned him. Upon mentioning ‘numerous beacons,’ three beacons will spawn in random locations on the stage, which will further enhance the team with a large defensive buff. These beacons remain onstage for 30 seconds but can be destroyed early by the opposing team, weakening the overall defensive buff with each beacon destroyed.

Such an inspirational speaker, and his verbosity gives even Mr. Resetti a run for his money. You heard the man - do it for the Emperor!
