Claude von Riegan is the heir and, later, leader of the Leicester Alliance. In the Officers Academy, Claude leads the Golden Deer, who come together 5 years after their training at the Academy to defeat Edelgard and Those Who Slither in the Dark. Graced with an easygoing charm, Claude is known as an affable, natural leader, as well as a master strategist and trickster. His aloof nature begets his more astute qualities, which assist him and the Leicester Alliance on their path throughout Verdant Wind. He is primarily a bow user and wields the legendary bow, Failnaught.

Dimitri (War)
Claude first appears on stage in his Officers Academy uniform. In this form, he will move about the stage almost as a legitimate playable character would, fluidly walking, running, and jumping in response to other players' actions. He has an iron bow and a leather shield in his inventory. The bow is more useful from a distance, but Claude makes up for his lack of combat options with the leather shield; opponents thinking it'll be as easy as anything to give him a good knock may be mistaken, should he choose to block their blow. The shield does have only a certain amount of resistance before it gives. Before he's ready to leave, Claude will be surrounded in a shining magic energy, moments later class-changing into his Great Lord form. In his war outfit, he will wield Failnaught, priming an all-powerful blow with the "Fallen Star" technique. Watch out, or you may just go flying! Of course, you can also sending Claude flying; it's a symbiotic relationship.
