Character Info[]

Charade is a creature who was formed when a dying man clutched fragments of the evil sword Soul Edge causing his blood and body to fuse with the fragments themselves. Now animated, Charade seeks to locate more of Soul Edge’s fragments so that it can become whole once more. When in battle, Charade will scan the minds of other warriors and shapeshift its own body to match one of them as it mimics their style of fighting as it creates a comparable weapon to wield.

General Information[]

Entrance[]

A quick flash of fire will reveal Charade in its default appearance before it shifts its body parts around to match a randomly selected Character.

Kirby Hat[]

As Charade does not have its own moveset, it doesn’t have its own Kirby Hat either. Instead, Kirby will wear whatever the Kirby Hat is and gain the ability of whatever character Charade is currently imitating.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Charade’s flames will die down some as the various pieces of its body shake and rattle sounding like bones being shaken up.

Down Taunt: Charade’s flames will increase in intensity for a quick second as they rise higher off its body before receding back to normal levels.

Side Taunt: The eyeball in Charade’s body will spin around rapidly as a low rumbling laughter is heard.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Charade will appear in its default appearance as it takes a couple swings to its left with Link’s Master Sword before whirling around and switching to swinging Shulk’s Monado a couple times. This Victory Pose ends with Charade doing a short jump up and spinning forwards in the air to slam down towards the camera with King Dedede’s hammer.
  2. Soul Edge is seen plunged into the ground before it shakes and explodes out into Charade who lets out a roar of triumph as it spreads its arms open in a challenging manner.
  3. Charade will appear dismantled as its body pieces violently swirl through the air around its large eyeball in a defensive storm encasing the eyeball in a sphere of Charade’s body parts.

Unique Traits[]

Charade is a unique character amongst the Super Smash Bros. roster. This is because Charade does not have any moveset of its own. Instead, Charade will transform into a form resembling another fighter, not unlike the Polygon, Wireframe, and Alloy Fighters from previous Smash games. Whatever form Charade took, be it Zelda, Pikachu, or Ridley, Charade will take on that character’s moveset in its entirety including their Final Smash and Extra Skill. Any other unique traits that that fighter has such as Joker’s ability to Wall Jump or Bowser’s Tough Guy mechanic will also be applied to Charade so long as Charade is transformed into that fighter. This even applies to mechanics like how Terry will automatically turn to face their opponent in a 1v1 fight.

Charade will stay in whatever form was randomly selected until it is KO’d. Upon being revived Charade will strike a new stance and begin to fight like another fighter. Though there is a small chance Charade may end up randomly selecting the same character. Whatever character Charade is currently mimicking will have a smaller version of their portrait be displayed next to Charade’s portrait. You could almost think of Charade as the Random button personified!
