Stage Info[]

Castle Siege isn’t strictly based on a specific location or battle from the Fire Emblem series and more on the concept of battle itself and the nature of needing to seize an enemy castle and capture it for your army. This includes not only a battle outside the castle itself with armies clashing, but also taking the fight indoors where you must capture the throne all before heading into an underground chasm surrounded by magma.

Stage Design[]

Stage Layout[]

This stage will begin with the fighters battling it out on the top of the castle with a long platform which rises with a slant in the middle towards the right side. There are two additional platforms floating above the main one with the rightmost platform being higher up than the first.

Roughly 40 seconds into the match the ground of the castle will begin to rumble as the stage transitions into the throne room of the castle. While the top of the castle was a midair stage, the throne room is a grounded stage with walk-offs to either side. There are four other platforms above the stage which are all being held up by statues. These statues can be attacked by direct attack attacks and if they take enough damage then both the statue and the platform they are holding will be destroyed. Once destroyed these statues won’t be rebuilt until the stage transitions all the way through its cycle and returns to the throne room.

Roughly 40 seconds have passed after the stage transitioned into the throne room, the ground will begin to rumble again signaling another transition. The fighters will now find themselves deep in an underground cavern as they fight on a single, slightly uneven, platform. There are no additional platforms during this part of the battle and despite the presence of magma in the background there is no lava hazard and the stage is classified as being mid-air with a bottomless pit once again.

After another 40 seconds will pass the stage will rumble once more before transitioning back to the top of the castle. During these transitions the stage will have temporary walk-offs to either side which can potentially save a fighter who was about to fall below the blast zones.

The design for this stage pulls from across the Fire Emblem series with castle flags that bear similarities to the nations of Daein and Dolhr from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiant and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon without being a complete match to either. Additionally soldiers which resemble the Armor Sword units from Radiant Dawn and a General which looks similar to the Black Knight will be seen inside of the throne room.

Soundtrack[]

  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
    • Fire Emblem Theme - An orchestral, lyrical version of the Fire Emblem theme sung in Latin. This track bears a strong resemblance to the “Theme of Fire Emblem, Opera Version”, which is a version of the main theme used in commercials for both Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light as well as Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. This track also incorporates Fight 2: CP Side Attack. [SSBB]
    • Story 5 Meeting - A medley of the Story 5: Meeting theme (also known as Together, We Ride!) and the Fire Emblem theme. This medley has a synthetic arrangement and takes an upbeat trumpet-led approach for the first half with a more dramatic and symphonic approach in the second half. [SSBM]
  • Fire Emblem Gaiden
    • With Mila's Divine Protection (Celica Map 1) - A Spanish flamenco-style remix of Celica’s player-phase map theme from Fire Emblem Gaiden with the Fire Emblem theme playing after it. The main instrumentation consists of an acoustic guitar, strings, trumpets, and castanets. [SSBB]
