Butter is a dairy product made from the fat and protein components of churned cream. It is a semi-solid emulsion at room temperature, consisting of approximately 80% butterfat. It is used at room temperature as a spread, melted as a condiment, and used as an ingredient in baking, sauce making, pan frying, and other cooking procedures.

You'd think that this would work like any old Food item, but you would be sorely mistaken. Grab butter straight off of the plate, and then hurl it at opponents or let it go sliding across the stage with aplomb! The butter will leave a slick residue where it touches. On the floor, this makes it easier to slide across, as if it were ice, and might also cause fighters to slip. For any fighters who have been hit by butter, they will slick up themselves, making them much more difficult to grab and throw. The more covered in butter you are, the easier it will be to slip from your opponent's grasp! It will even help you evade onslaughts from the likes of Kapp'n or the Beetle if you're slicked up enough.
