Character Info[]

One day during a regular trip to the local grocery store, a bag of candy ripped open as a large gummy hand reached out and grasped Burrito Bison as it pulled him inside. When Burrito Bison awoke he found himself in a wrestling ring opposite a giant jawbreaker with legs. Burrito Bison had to fight, launch, and slam his way through the Jawbreaker and Gummies in order to escape back to his world. Unfortunately for Burrito Bison, after he finally made it back to the grocery store he realized that his wallet had been left behind in the strange land so he jumped back inside to beat up more candy opponents and get his wallet back. During another shopping trip sometime in the future, Burrito Bison once again encountered the Gummies when a bag of candy ripped open as an army of gummies invaded his home. With the Gummies having destroyed his very grocery store as well as his home, Burrito Bison took to the skies to fight off the Gummies once again, and this time he was joined by his fellow Launchadores Pineapple Spank and El Pollo.

General Information[]

Entrance[]

A large bag of gummies sits on the stage with a portal coming out from the top of it. Burrito Bison will fall out of the portal and land on the stage. When he stands up, the portal and bag of gummies disappears as Burrito Bison brushes the dust off his shoulders.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby will wear Burrito Bison’s lucha mask around his entire body.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Burrito Bison will jump up and down doing a couple quick jumping jacks.

Down Taunt: Burrito Bison will get down on the ground and perform two quick push-ups before getting back up to fight.

Side Taunt: Burrito Bison will face towards the camera just a bit before flexing the muscles in one arm shortly followed by the second arm.

Victory Poses[]

  1. With his bag of gummies in his hand, Burrito Bison will grab a handful and throw them in his mouth as he chows down on delicious gummy candy.
  2. Burrito Bison will start out this animation falling towards the ground striking the pose. Instead of a graceful landing however, Burrito Bison will faceplant into the ground. After a brief moment Burrito Bison will lift his head and flash a smile at the camera as he holds up a thumbs up.
  3. With his recipe book out, Burrito Bison will flip through its pages before getting an excited look on his face as he finds just the recipe he’s looking for.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Launch!!: When the button is pressed, a set of ropes from a wrestling ring will appear behind Burrito Bison as he leans back against them and pathetically throws himself forwards. Burrito Bison will propel himself a very short distance and will end up faceplanting on the stage if he doesn’t hit an opponent. Alternatively, if the player holds down the button then Burrito Bison will keep himself held against the ropes until you let go of the button. In this state, you can angle the control stick and cause an arrow to appear in Burrito Bison pointing in the opposite direction of where you are angling the control stick. When you let go of the button Burrito Bison will launch himself forwards in that direction where he can go for a full-on body tackle in the air. While this move can launch Burrito Bison a good distance, he starts to fall off pretty sharply after he’s traveled two Bowsers in distance as he heads back down to the ground. When used on the ground, players can hold this special move for 5 seconds before they launch Burrito Bison forwards. However when this is used in the air the player will only be able to hold it for 1 second before Burrito Bison is automatically sent flying. This move cannot be used to send Burrito Bison flying backwards or down. Instead, if the player pushes the control stick forwards causing the arrow to point back at Burrito Bison (or upwards so the arrow points down) they can release the special move button to cancel the attack and not send Burrito Bison anywhere.

Side Special[]

Flight of the Chicken: Using a technique he learned from El Pollo, Burrito Bison will do his best to lunge and throw himself forwards into the air. When used on the ground this move isn’t that helpful as Burrito Bison will quickly fall back down to the stage. When used in the air however, Burrito Bison will actually be able to glide for a couple seconds as he flies through the air. It’s limited however and is really more of a hovering technique than the old glide mechanic from Brawl. Either way, making contact with an opponent will cause them to take damage and end Burrito Bison’s fun in the skies.

Up Special[]

Pineapple Grapple: With a tap of the up special, Burrito Bison will take out Pineapple Spank’s grapple gun and fire it diagonally up into the air. The grapple has some slight homing to it and will prioritize ledges and then other fighters. If the grapple is able to latch onto something it will pull Burrito Bison forwards towards it allowing him to slam into a fighter on the way. If instead you choose to hold down the up special, Burrito Bison will hold onto the grappling gun and you can use the control stick to angle where you want it to fire. Unlike with Launch!!, this time around the grappling gun will actually fire in the direction that you tilt the control stick. Don’t get that mixed up!

Down Special[]

Rocket Slam: When this move is used in the air, little rockets will appear strapped to Burrito Bison’s legs as they activate and send him rocketing straight down towards the stage. If Burrito Bison makes contact with a fighter before hitting the stage, that fighter will be meteor smashed and Burrito Bison will be bounced high up into the air like he had performed a Footstool Jump, but better. Luckily for the Burrito Bison if he gets bounced up into the air it won’t cause him to go above the blast zones. If Burrito Bison doesn’t hit a fighter however and instead crashes down into the stage he’ll cause himself to take a small amount of damage as a small aoe explosion is centered around him. When used on the ground, Burrito Bison will first jump into the air in whatever direction he’s facing before slamming straight down.

Final Smash[]

Sweet Impact: Kicking off this Final Smash, a pair of wrestling ropes will appear behind Burrito Bison as they send him flying in a straight line. With his fist pointed forwards, Burrito Bison will attempt to slam into a fighter and if he succeeds he’ll drag them into a cinematic. This cinematic Final Smash will show Burrito Bison flying through the air and slamming himself against a variety of different gummy bears as he flies through Candy Land. After a short time, Burrito Bison will bounce into a sky filled with cotton candy clouds. When Burrito Bison descends back down from the skies he’ll be covered in so much cotton candy fluff that all you’ll be able to see are his head and limbs. At this point Burrito Bison will have caught up to his opponent and will slam down into them with the sheer force of his cotton candy and cause them to go flying off into the sunset with a heavy amount of damage.

Extra Skill[]

Special Gummies: By tapping the Extra Skill button, Burrito Bison will pull out a small bag of gummy candy and will hold onto it until the player either uses a Special Move, his Final Smash, or presses the Extra Skill button again to put the bag of gummy candy away. While Burrito Bison is holding onto the Gummy Candy he is capable of using different Special Moves as well as a different Final Smash. The catch is that Burrito Bison can only each of these exclusive special moves (and Final Smash) once per stock and after each one is used it takes a longer amount of time for Burrito Bison to take out and put away the bag of gummies.

  • Lt. Jel E. Boom - A replacement for Launch!!, this move puts Burrito Bison in a barrel similar to the Barrel Cannon item. Using the control stick the player can angle which direction (not downwards) the cannon will face and after a quick second it will explode with force firing out Burrito Bison in that direction. Compared to Launch!!, this move has greater range that it can fire Burrito Bison in and causes an explosive aoe whenever Burrito Bison is fired from Lt. Jel E. Boom’s barrel.
  • Rocket Rider - A replacement for Flight of the Chicken, this move has Burrito Bison ride on a rocket alongside the Rocket Rider Gummy. The rocket moves forward in a straight line with a slow startup that gets faster the further the rocket travels. The rocket can travel roughly half the length of Final Destination before it starts to fall downwards. When the rocket hits something, be that a fighter, obstacle, or the stage itself, the rocket will explode with an aoe damaging other fights in range.
  • Chubby Gummy - A replacement for Pineapple Grapple, Burrito Bison will grab onto the back of a Chubby Gummy and bounce up high into the air. The Chubby Gummy will damage anyone that it makes contact with and when the Chubby Gummy has reached the height of its travels (roughly similar to King Dedede’s Super Dedede Jump) the Chubby Gummy (and Burrito Bison) will begin to plummet downwards. They don’t go straight down and instead fall slightly forwards in a small arc. At this point the Chubby Gummy can meteor smash anyone that falls directly below it and when it lands back down on the stage it will explode in an aoe of gummy goodness.
  • Pepper Gummy - A replacement for Rocket Slam, when this move is used Burrito Bison will curl up into a ball and appear to have small flames around him as he’s under the effects of a Pepper Gummy. At this point the player will want to hold down the Down Special button as Burrito Bison spins in place in a similar manner to Sonic’s Spin Dash and Jigglypuff’s Rollout. Like Rollout, when the player is ready they can let go of the special button to have Burrito Bison roll forwards with great speed and power. If Burrito Bison slams into someone they’ll take a high amount of damage and knockback. Be careful though as unlike Jigglypuff’s Rollout, Burrito Bison is unable to switch the direction of his roll and can only cancel out of it after he’s rolled for 2.5 seconds. Be careful of using this move and rolling off the edge of the stage.
  • Lucky Gummy - A replacement for Sweet Impact, this changed Burrito Bison’s Final Smash in a small way. During the cinematic of the Final Smash when Burrito Bison is bouncing upwards towards the cotton candy sky he’ll instead make contact with a Lucky Gummy. This will have Burrito Bison’s body transform to look like the Lucky Gummy, poptart-looking body and all, before crashing down on the opposing fighter as per usual. This is slightly more than just a cinematic change however. When the Final Smash ends, the fighter that was caught in it will be dealt a slightly higher amount of damage and knockback than they would if they were hit by Burrito Bison’s normal Final Smash.
