Stage Info[]
Many years ago there were once two glimmering towers in Ecruteak City. The Bell Tower, where Ho-Oh would perch and the Brass Tower where Lugia would perch. However 150 years ago a mysterious fire destroyed the Brass Tower resulting in Lugia fleeing for the Whirl Islands and Ho-Oh flew away in search of a Pokemon Trainer with a pure heart. In the blaze, three unknown Pokemon perished, which some believe to be a Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. Feeling grief for what happened, Ho-Oh returned once the fire was put out and revived the three Pokemon and created the Legendary Beasts of the Johto region, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. Now, the tower remains a ruined shell of its former shell and goes by the new moniker of Burned Tower.
Stage Design[]
Stage Layout[]
Burned Tower is a very vertical stage featuring a solid platform at the bottom and then three long platforms placed vertically above it. These platforms are all evenly spaced out between each other. And can be passed through. What’s awesome is that similar to the Luigi’s Mansion stage and how you’re actually fighting inside of Luigi’s Mansion, this stage is built so that you are actually fighting inside of the Burned Tower.
Throughout the match one of four Pokemon can spawn in. While three of them will launch some kind of attack, the fourth will do something a little bit different.
Stage Hazards[]
Entei:[]
Entei will jump onto the bottom platform of the stage and gather firey energy around it as it prepares to use the move Eruption. A tower of flames will rise up from Entei and reach up to the middle platform causing fiery burns to anyone that makes contact with it. The red circled area on the layout image indicates the range that this move covers. The damage is the same no matter where you touch the fire, however the sides will send you flying back horizontally while the top will send you flying up. If you are in the move’s range right as the attack begins, the damage you take will be increased and you’ll be sent flying further.
Raikou:[]
Raikou will jump onto the bottom platform of the stage and gather electrical energy around it as it prepares to use the move Discharge. A dome of electrical energy will emanate from Raikou’s body dealing to anyone that makes contact with it. If you’re in the move range when it begins you’ll be trapped in the attack and take constant damage until it ends. Anyone else will just take damage and minor knockback when they make contact with the electricity. However they still run the risk of taking several hits. The yellow circled area on the layout image indicates the range that this move covers.
Suicune:[]
Suicune will jump onto the bottom platform of the stage and gather icy cold energy around it as it prepares to use the move Sheer Cold. Freezing cold icicles will begin to fall from the top of the stage until they crash into the bottom platform and pass through all the other platforms in their path. Obviously, contact with the icicles will deal damage and knockback to the players. Being hit by the tip of the icicle will deal increased damage and serves as a Meteor Smash. There is also a very small AoE of damage when the icicles break against the bottom platform. The blue circled areas on the layout image indicate the size of the icicles and where they can spawn. Each icicle spawns in from a random point.
Ho-Oh:[]
Rarely, Ho-Oh can also spawn in on this stage. When Ho-Oh appears it will perch on top of what remains of the Burned Tower. Seeing the tower fills Ho-Oh with sad memories as it watches the fight for a little bit. Not long after that Ho-Oh will let out a cry and spread its wings to fly away. However as it does that a single Rainbow Wing will fall from Ho-Oh’s wings and begin to drift down below. The feather will pass through the first three platforms before landing on the bottom. The first player to grab the feather, whether it’s in the air or on the ground, will be instantly healed 50% damage.
