Assist Trophy Info[]

The Botchling bears the curse of being unwanted, taking the form of a grotesque, fetal creature following an improper burial. Only by committing the elven ritual of Aymm Rhoin might a Botchling become a Lubberkin, a peaceful household guardian, once it knows that it is loved. Kept in its Botchling form, the cursed one will become more monstrous, feeding on pregnant women until it is dispatched by a Witcher or someone of a similar profession.

Mode of Assistance[]

The Botchling will immediately turn on its summoner, following menacingly behind them with its tongue outstretched. In this form, it's sharing its curse with its summoner, dishing out a constant, second-by-second racking-up of damage unto the fighter. In order to commit to Aymm Rhoin, the summoner must pick up a new item and throw it off of the stage. The Botchling will then become a Lubberkin and, knowing that it is wanted by the summoner, it will gift the summoner with a stat buff before disappearing into the earth. It is a hefty overall buff to attack and defense alike, also keeping the summoner in a constant state of super armor. This buff lasts for upwards of 10 seconds.

The summoner may also take care of the Botchling by attacking it, but must beware in that each attack dished out on the Botchling will cause it to become more aggressive. The Botchling's curse will deal out more damage by the moment until it is KO'd. In its final moments, it will open its mouth wide and attempt to bite at the summoner, dishing out considerable damage should it succeed. The Botchling may be KO'd by any fighter, as well—or even another Assist Trophy—making for an interesting game of keep-away should an opponent not want the summoner to succeed in Aymm Rhoin.
