Enemy Info[]

Bonkers are purple monkeys with a penchant for swinging large hammers.  They’re typically found as mid-bosses in various Kirby games and will give Kirby the Hammer ability if they’re absorbed. During the events of Forgotten Land, one Bonkers ended up joining the Beast Pack as Wild Bonkers and gained a more savage-like appearance. Meanwhile during the events of Planet Robobot, a different Bonkers end up getting turned into a cyborg and named Bonkers 2.0.

Fight Pattern[]

Bonkers is a rare and powerful enemy who boasts higher health than most. He’s effectively a mini-boss for Smash, just like he is in the Kirby games. Bonkers cannot be flinched or get knocked back, he can only get KO’d through straight damage. When Bonkers is defeated he’ll drop high-level stat drops that can seriously boost a fighter’s capabilities.

Attacks[]

Heavy Jump[]

Bonkers will leap a short distance straight up into the air and then slam back down to the ground at his previous location. This attack will deal heavy damage and ground any fighter who is hit by Bonkers on his way down and will ground opponents who are standing below him and get hit. The jump up hits for less and when Bonkers lands a small windbox will push fighters away who manage to not get damage by the slam.

Coconut Toss[]

Bonkers will grab a coconut out from nowhere and toss it towards the nearest fighter. Bonkers can throw up to three coconuts one after the other. Largely this will depend on the difficulty level and how much health Bonkers has left. Most coconuts will inflict no damage and will just flinch the fighter opening them up to attack. However there’s a rare chance that one of Bonkers’ coconuts will explode on contact and inflict damage in an aoe.

Hammer Flip[]

Bonkers will take a cue from Kirby and King Dedede and start to charge up his hammer until it catches fire. Unlike those two, Bonkers won’t take damage from his own hammer as he continues to hold its charge. Once swung, Bonkers will hit fast with a single hard-hitting swing which hits for fire damage.

Hammer Swing[]

In a manner not too dissimilar from Link’s Spin Attack, Bonkers will spin in place for several seconds and swing his hammer as he does to hit any opponents who are trying to come up on him. Thankfully for them this attack hits less hard than Hammer Flip, but it's always better to just not get hit.
