Enemy Info[]

Originating in The Wind Waker, Bokoblins are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda. Fell beasts who serve Ganondorf, they are slightly capable martial artists who are capable of wielding a variety of weapons. They come in several colors, often depicting levels of strength. By Breath of the Wild, Bokoblins have advanced to create a nomadic culture, surviving in packs amongst cave dwellings and even riding horses to hunt. Still, they aren't the brightest. Here in Smash, they'll appear in any number of forms dependent upon their surroundings, from their Wind Waker selves to their Breath of the Wild selves. Regardless, they will function the same. The only exception is if the appear in their Skyward Sword forms, which means they might present something else entirely...

Fight Pattern[]

Bokoblins will commonly wait idly by until a fighter comes near enough for them to notice. At this point, they'll charge at them, often with a weapon in-hand, ready to fight. They aren't capable of moving like a playable character would, but still are fairly versatile. They are able to crouch and jump at certain degrees, as well as walk and run. They can even pick up melee items and use them!

Attacks[]

Boko Smack[]

The Bokoblin's most common weapon is a Boko Stick which they have fashioned to be able to deliver a solid beating. When they're near enough to a fighter, they'll lift it above their heads at one moment, then slam it down. This dishes out some decent damage and knockback and is their most common move. If they are wielding another item, whether it be another weapon of their own design such as a scimitar, or something like a Beam Sword, they'll operate in the same manner when attacking with it.

Bow[]

Bokoblins are also rudimentarily proficient with the bow and arrow. You'll sometimes run into one in a high corner who is trained in evasive maneuvering and defensive picking, producing standard shots with these weapons from afar. They won't deal too much damage, but it can rack up over time with a well-placed Bokoblin scout.

Bombs[]

While they don't have any lamp oil or rope on that, some Bokoblins do wield bombs and aren't afraid to use them. They will toss them forward, dealing damage similar to Link's if they manage to land.

Flying Kick[]

Occasionally, a Bokoblin will be found without a weapon. This might be because they slammed it down in just the right way for it to deflect, or simply because they don't have one available to them at the time. Nevertheless, when backed into a corner, they'll show off their martial arts skills, leaping forward about a Kirby off of the ground in a way that they think might rival Ryu! Well, truth is, they aren't a venerable Street Fighter, and their attack won't dish out that much damage. But, hey, they tried.
