Enemy Info[]
Blockheads are a recurring race of demons in the cult classic action adventure title, Okami. Each Blockhead bears a strong resemblance to an ancient Japanese plaster wall complete with cracks and cobwebs. Despite their imperfections, however, Blockheads are impervious to almost all forms of attack. They can only be defeated if their opponent discovers the unique set of pressure points that they must attack directly, and in quick succession.
In Okami, Amaterasu was able to accomplish this feat by first striking the demon with her headbutt to uncover the pressure points, which she then dabbed with the Celestial Brush. Having been the only one to ever defeat Blockheads in the race's history, Blockheads have since deemed her 'The White Demon of Death'.
Fight Pattern[]
A Blockhead never dares to swing the staff that they carry in their scrawny right hand, instead deciding to remain perfectly still. Much like in Okami, they are wholly resistant to all manner of attacks unless they are dished out directly to their pressure points. Given the difference in playstyle between Okami and Super Smash Bros., this process inherently ends out being conveyed in a unique way in Smash. First, the Blockhead's opponent must be facing them head-on - Blockhead will always remain impervious from behind. Secondly, the player must deliver a strong enough blow (most likely from a Smash attack) in order to unveil the Blockhead's pressure point, which will glow for a brief moment on either the top, middle, or bottom half of their body. Depending on the location of the pressure point, the player will then have to repeatedly attack it in order to defeat the Blockhead, making it crumble to pieces.
If a Blockhead is not defeated within a certain amount of time after its pressure point is revealed, the pressure point will reset and players will have to repeat the attack process. Oftentimes, Blockheads will be blocking doorways to great treasures in Story Mode, or will halt players in their tracks while on a mandatory path towards the end goal.
