True to his name, Big the Cat is a big ol' cat with a heart of gold and a brain of mush. Despite his gentle, dimly lit nature, Big is incredibly resilient and strong, becoming one of Sonic's most notable allies. At the end of the day, though, all Big wants is a lake to lay his hat and fish at alongside his best friend, Froggy.
Mode of Assistance[]
Froggy is perched on Big's shoulder, but then leaps off when Big is about to pet him. Big shouts, "Froggy, no!" and throws his fishing rod out in an attempt to catch his friend. Comically, Big never quite does, sluggishly shambling through the stage and unleashing his rod wherever the frog goes. Froggy tends to leap towards opponents, making it possible that Big will catch a line with them. If a foe is caught in Big's fishing line, he'll plop himself down on the ground and say, "Wow! A big catch!" before reeling them in. They'll immediately travel to Big, who will be shocked by their appearance to the point that he punches them and begins running in the opposite direction. The punch is a mighty one, so watch out! Big will begin chasing Froggy again moments later. Once Big is about done on-stage, he'll trip and fall flat on his face, at which point Froggy will hop onto his head and croak. Big will laugh, saying, "Oh, Froggy!" as he gets up and the two walk off, Froggy once again on his shoulder.
