Boss Info[]
Baramos is a demon and archfiend, believed by the world at large to be the source of evil and the reason that monsters plague the land. Many years ago the hero Ortega set out from Aliahan in a quest to slay Baramos, but unfortunately his quest ended in failure against one of Baramos’ underlings. Years later, Ortega’s son would set out from Aliahan to finish his father’s quest and do battle with Baramos. Though Baramos was defeated by the young Hero, it was soon learned that he was merely a pawn to his master Zoma, and not only that, but Baramos’ Soul and Bones persisted to later attempt their revenge against the Hero.
Boss Fight Details[]
Baramos is a difficult boss to fight as not only does he cast high damaging spells, but spells that can alter the status condition of the fighter. On top of this, Baramos will be constantly healing himself every other second so long as he is still alive. The amount that Baramos heals will increase on higher difficulties. Additionally, Baramos has access to the spell Zoom which lets him warp from one side of the stage to the other at will. When Baramos uses Zoom he will typically immediately follow up with one of his spells. This is intended to prevent players from tying to camp his spawn points. On higher difficulties Baramos will quickly use two spells back to back after using Zoom and he may choose to chain his Zooms to do a combo like Zoom-Kafrizz-Zoom-Kaboom!
Attacks[]
Kaboom[]
A large explosion will burst in the middle of the stage before rippling out to the sides dealing damage and knockback with each individual explosion. Higher difficulties will crease the amount and range of the explosions to cover more of the screen.
Kafrizz[]
A large fireball will manifest in front of Baramos’ hands before it lobs upwards slightly and attempts to home in on the player’s location before falling right towards them. Kafrizz can of course be dodged as it only locks onto the player’s position at the height of its lob, and even then it will always fall down towards the stage and won’t fly upwards if the player is airborne or behind it. Kafrizz explodes with high fiery force so be sure to stay away from its blaze radius.
Inferno[]
Baramos will bend forwards just a tad before unleashing a torrent of flames from his move covering the majority of the stage’s ground. Baramos will continue to breath out these flames for a couple seconds so players will need to be careful about avoiding them. Luckily being hit by the flames isn’t super damaging and will knock fighters up into the air making it easier for them to avoid being hit a second time.
Fuddle[]
A pink magical cloud will waft forward from Baramos with swirls and star-shapes scattered about it. Any fighters who make contact with this cloud will take a miniscule amount of damage, but will have their controls be scrambled for a set time. Up is down, and left is right! The amount of time your controls are scrambled is dependent on the level of difficulty with higher difficulties scrambling your water longer.
Spooky Aura[]
A spooky dark mist will roll off of Baramos and slowly chase down the player. If the mist makes contact with the player it will hang around them and infect them with its aura. While the Spooky Aura infects the player they will take an increased amount of damage from Baramos’ magical attacks. The mist will eventually wear off on its own much like the Inkling’s ink.
Blasto[]
If a fighter is spending a lot of their time immediately next to Baramos trying to melee him, he might counter them with this technique. Baramos will create a puff of wind right in front of him and if it hits an opponent it will deal a small amount of damage to them while knocking them back with a high amount of force horizontally. If the player already has a high amount of damage, there is a good chance this will quickly send them back past the horizontal blast lines.
Thwack[]
If a fighter is spending a lot of their time far away from Baramos trying to attack him from a distance, he might counter them with this technique. A dark purple skull will appear in the space next to the fighter before it opens its jaw and tries to bite down on them. If the jaw is successful in hitting the fighter they will take a high amount of damage and be sent straight up into the air. If the fighter has already taken 100% damage or more, then this attack will end up instantly KO’ing them.
