Item Info[]

Commonly used by law enforcement, the ballistic shield is capable of defending the user from a multitude of different weapons—from everyday handguns to heavier artillery, like shotguns and submachine guns. This particular shield is jet black with a thicker rifle-protection shield overlay, mounted on wheels for ease of use and with a white Smash emblem painted onto its front. Throughout Solid Snake and company's missions throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, they've dispatched many a KGB and GRU agent wielding these shields with a little bit of CQC magic.

Item Usage[]

The ballistic shield "plops" onto the stage with a thud, standing upright thanks to its mobile outfit. Grab onto the shield and dash around on it like a skateboard! The further you move forward, the more intensity will build up until the momentum becomes visible, deflecting certain projectiles while slamming into foes, dishing out pretty good damage, knockback, and a potential for grounding. The ballistic shield can be battered away with enough effort. It can take unlimited blows from minor weapons like Fox's Blaster, 5 or so hits from weapons like the Steel Diver, and can successfully absorb one well-placed blast from heavy-hitters like a fully-charged Charge Shot from Samus. Note that the shield will generally only absorb blows and not deflect them, with the exception of when it is moving fast and is surrounded by momentum; in this mode, it can deflect or reflect a multitude of smaller projectiles or thrown weapons.
