Character Info[]

Who’s the girl next door living in the haunted mansion? It’s Ashley! Ashley is a young witch and resident of Diamond City who lived alone with her friend/pet/familiar Red. Though Ashley is skilled in magic, she’s still just an apprentice and has been known to screw up her spells from time to time such as trying to grow a small plant and instead making it large enough to break through her roof. Though Ashley acts mean to everyone and acts like she hates them, she’s actually insecure and just wants to be friends with everyone. Ashley just… struggles to express that feeling and even threatens people to be her friend or else.

Entrance[]

Ashley will gently land down on the stage using her broom before transforming it into her wand.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby will wear Ashley’s hair and orange tiara on his head.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Ashley waves her wand as she attempts to cast a hex on an opponent. Instead, Ashley will end up creating a tiny raincloud that appears over her head and rains down on her. Ashley will fold her arms and grumble while the anime anger mark appears over her head.

Down Taunt: Red will appear next to Ashley and do a short comedic dance routine as Ashley looks on unamused.

Side Taunt: Ashley will pull out a Mandrake and hold it in front of her in a threatening manner.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Ashley will face the screen with her arms outstretched, her eyes glowing red as a dark energy swirls around her and says, “Careful, or I might hex you next time.” Red meanwhile will peek out from behind Ashley and look up at her in awe.
  2. Ashley will be relaxing in a chair reading a book titled “How to Make Friends” as Red keeps her cool by fanning her.
  3. Ashley will twirl her wand like a baton as Red plays a small lute next to her, matching the beat of her victory theme.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Red Hex: Ashley will lazily swing her wand ahead of her sending out a red star-shaped projectile that flies forwards for a distance equaling half of Final Destination before petering out. By tilting the control stick up or down, you can alter where Ashley fires this hex. By default the hex will fly on a horizontal line roughly centered with Ashley’s center. By tilting the control stick up, Ashley will raise her wand up and fire the hex roughly at the same height as her eyes. By tilting the control stick down, Ashley will lower her wand to the ground and fire the hex just roughly above where her feet would be. This gives Ashley the ability to try and catch opponents off guard who may try to jump or duck under her hex.

Side Special[]

Red's Rampage: Ashley throws her wand forward like a boomerang, traveling about as far as Toon Link's. If it connects with anything, the wand turns into Red, and Red begins to swipe and stab at the foe with his pitchfork. He will remain fairly persistent but can be batted off with a solid hit or two. He kind of acts like a more powerful Pikmin. He can perform a "critical hit" after a while which has a bit of startup lag and hits a bit harder with a fire element. If he does this, he'll immediately return to Ashley right after.

Up Special[]

Kabroom: Ashley will transform her wand into a broom and channel magic through it to propel herself forwards in a straight line as she flies through the air on her broom. By default this move will send Ashley flying straight up into the sky, but by tilting the control stick when the move begins you can send Ashley in any direction. Pressing the special button a second time will have Ashley channel a burst of magic into the broom again, attempting to get a greater boost of speed and distance. Unfortunately for Ashley the spell backfires and her momentum will instead stop as the broom swings around so that it hits whatever is immediately in her path.

Down Special[]

Transformation Trouble: Ashley attempts to transform an opponent with a wave of her wand, but her magic is wily and unreliable. The opponent, or Ashley, is briefly morphed into something at random. It might be Pyoro, which removes all of the attacks except for a tongue attack, or something that  temporarily immobilizes them, like a pumpkin or a giant Wario nose. There is about a fifth of a chance that this will happen to Ashley instead of her intended opponent. Chances of it backfiring rise depending on how much magic Ashley has used prior to engaging with this spell. There is some cooldown to this spell, to where it can only be used every so often. If it is used during refractory, Ashley will just grumble or say something like, "Not yet."

Ashley's transformation effects include but are not limited to turning into Pyoro, which limits movement to walking, running, jumping, and a sticky tongue attack, a bat, which helps with unlimited flight and a light tackle for a limited period of time, or creating a "shadow self" to follow behind the character which mimics their attacks with a slight delay, ala Ice Climbers. She might also transform herself or her foe into Wario's giant nose, which has the ability to awkwardly shuffle around and leap into foes, but not much more, and a giant pumpkin, which cannot move at all but can eventually be broken out of with pieces of the pumpkin becoming edible. Other more traditional buffs and debuffs that might occur include a Lip's Stick flower, a Toadstool on their head, invisibility, Bunny Hood, poison, and giant and tiny forms.

Final Smash[]

The Meanest Potion: Ashley will quietly say, “Get ‘em Red.” as Ashley’s wand transforms back into Red. Red will run forward and attack with his pitchfork a short distance and whatever fighter he manages to hit will be dragged into a cinematic Final Smash. Ashley will then be seen in front of a large cauldron as she stirs in new ingredients while her opponent is tied up next to the wall. Ashley will then add three ingredients into the cauldron which are eye of newt, grandma’s wig, and kitten spit. Ashley will then pause trying to remember what was the last ingredient before her eyes slide over to look at Red goofing off. Ashley will grab Red and chuck him into the cauldron. The potion in the cauldron will violently begin to bubble up before it spits up like a geyser and forms into a sentient creepy creature made up of the potion. The sentient potion will look at the tied up fighter and growl before slashing at them twice as the camera pans over to Ashley as a small grin appears on her face and the screams of her opponent are heard.

Extra Skill[]

Leave it to Red: Ashley will transform her wand back into Red and leave him where she stands. Red will stay in place and attack any other thing that gets near him with his pitchfork for small damage and knockback. While Red is deployed, Ashley will be unable to use her Side Special, Red’s Rampage. Additionally, Ashley’s Standard Special, Red Hex, will deal less damage and fire a smaller projectile since the wand she normally uses for that attack is actually Red transformed into a wand. Attempting to use this Extra Skill a second time will have Red warp back to Ashley’s side and immediately transform back into her wand. Additionally, Red will automatically return to Ashley after 7 seconds have passed.

Unique Traits[]

Ashley has one extra jump that she can use by quickly transforming her wand into a broom and getting a short boost into the air.

  6. Mandrakes - Ashley’s dress and shoes will become brown while her dress fringe, neckerchief, and tiara become dark green to reference the Mandrakes from her microgame story lines.
  7. Gahrumble - Ashley’s dress and shoes will become a light gray while her dress fringe, neckerchief, and tiara become bright green to reference the demon Gahrumble.
  8. Barbara the Bat - Ashley’s dress and shoes will become purple while her dress fringe, neckerchief, and tiara become pink to reference her crossover collaboration with Daigasso! Band Brothers.
