Character Info[]
Arataki Itto is a proud descendant of the crimson oni and the leader of the Arataki Gang. Though he’s considered a delinquent by the citizens of Inazuma City, Arataki actually has a heroic spirit. Arataki has a wildfree and at times childlike spirit as he loves to engage in games such as Beetle Brawling and Genius Invokation TCG. While Arataki normally fights with a claymore and the Geo element, when he unleashes his Raging Oni King spirit he’ll swap out his blade for a large kanabou and let loose on his opponents. While there is some debate amongst the Arataki Gang on when they were officially formed, Arataki believes they were formed from the moment he first came up with the idea. Just don’t ask him when that was as he can no longer remember. Ah well.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
A large golden crystal will crash into the stage like a meteorite and when it makes contact it will break apart as a burst of bright light appears. The light will quickly fade away to reveal Arataki Itto standing with his kanabou held over his shoulder in a similar pose to his wish art.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby will have Arataki Itto’s hair and oni horns on top of his head.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Arataki will hold his precious Akaushi bull Ushi over his shoulder as he pumps his fist into the air.
Down Taunt: Arataki will pull out a comb which he uses to brush down along the side of his hair twice before he tosses the comb away and it disappears in a flash of light.
Side Taunt: Arataki will hold out a hand of Genius Invokation trading cards before taking one and holding it forwards. Arataki will act like he’s about to play this card to win a duel as he says, “You’re going down!”
Victory Poses[]
- Arataki will take out an oni mask and put it on his face before he leans back and lets out a mighty demonic roar.
- The camera will start out zoomed in on an onikabuto beetle which is crawling along a large rock. The camera will pan back to see Arataki sneaking up on the onikabuto and trying to catch it. Arataki will miss and crash into the rock as the onikabuto flies off.
- The camera will pan around Arataki as he bends forward and places both hands on his knees and grunt as he takes a wide stance before lifting up one leg high into the air and slamming it into the ground with a mighty thud. Arataki will shake his head with a bit of a growl before facing the camera with a wide smirk. While this is happening Arataki will say, “Nobody messes with the Arataki Gang!”
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Woodchucker: A spectral image of a tree will appear in front of Arataki before he quickly swings his claymore in a horizontal slash straight through it. When his blade passes through the “tree” chunks of solid wood will fly out from the tree as projectile debris. This debris is weak and breaks on impact, but serves as a great way to interrupt opponents and also pepper them with additional damage. The sword strike is obviously the main threat of this attack. By tilting the control stick down upon activating this special Arataki will swing his blade with a downwards chop instead. This will also cause the wooden logs to fly out in a downwards pattern as well as knock opponents hit with it towards the ground instead of horizontally. Additionally, you also have the option of tilting the control stick up after activating this special. When this is done Arataki will swing his claymore up into the air knocking fighters up vertically and sending wooden logs up higher into the air as well.
Side Special[]
Fight Club Legend: This special move operates similarly to Marth’s Dancing Blade as it allows Arataki to string together a series of sword-based combos that can change based on directional inputs. Each use of Fight Club Legend can result in up to three attacks with the final attack inflicting the most damage and knockback. These extra attacks are dependent on Arataki managing to hit something with the previous attack as well as press the special move input again at the proper timing. If the previous attack missed or if you miss the input then there will be no followup attack. There are four different “finales” for this special move. Tilting the control stick forward (or using no tilt) will result in a fairly standard horizontal slash attack that launches fighters away. Tilting the control stick down will have Arataki end the attack with a stabbing attack that can cause fighters to crumple to the ground like with Ridley’s down special. Tilting the control stick up will result in a shoryuken-like attack as Arataki jumps a short height as he swings his sword and knocks his opponent up into the air. Tilting the control stick backwards will result in Arataki doing a quick dash to the other side of the opponent before quickly turning back towards them and swinging his sword with lightning-fast speed sending them flying in the opposite direction.
Up Special[]
Saichimonji Slash: After a good amount of wind-up, Arataki will quickly spin around himself twice as he swings his claymore around him. This attack hits hard and can launch fighters a decent distance away from Arataki. When used in the air this move will also carry Arataki up a short distance into the air as the force of his swings give him some aerial mobility. However when used on the ground Arataki will not gain any height. Unfortunately for Arataki this means he has a rather weak ability to recover.
Down Special[]
Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!: Arataki will heft his pet Ushi, a young akaushi bull, in his arms before tossing the bull forwards in an arc. The angle that Ushi can be tossed can be angled slightly. If Ushi manages to hit an opponent they will take a small amount of damage and knockback and Arataki will gain a small buff to his attack stat for 3 seconds. Either way, Ushi will remain on the field serving as a distraction in the fight. Ushi only has 10% HP and if it is attacked (or KO’d) then Arataki will regain his attack buff. If Arataki still had his buff then the timer on it will be reset. Ushi does not make any attacks of his own but he will jump in place and try to harass fighters who are near where he was thrown. Only one instance of Ushi can be on the field at a time and if Arataki tries to throw out another Ushi he will comically fail to do so. Ushi will despawn after 10 seconds and Arataki must wait for either that time to pass or for Ushi to be KO’d before he can throw out Ushi again.
Final Smash[]
Might of the Arataki Gang: The loud roar of an oni will be heard as Arataki leaps up shortly in the air and hefts his mighty kanebou over his shoulder as he strikes a pose similar to his Wish art from Genshin Impact. Arataki will rush forwards and swing his kanebou in a wide arc in front of the first opponent he makes contact with. That opponent, and any others hit by Arataki’s kanebou will be pulled into a cinematic final smash. In this cutscene Arataki will start out standing with the other members of the Arataki Gang. At Arataki’s command the members of his gang will charge forward and attack the opponents. Most of the members of the Arataki Gang however aren’t too effective in this Final Smash so the majority of the attacks and damage com from Arataki Itto and his deputy Kuki Shinobu as Arataki wields his mighty kanebou club for heavy hitting Geo attacks and Kuki uses her Shadowsword for lightning-quick Electro attacks. The Final Smash will end with one of the more ordinary members of the Arataki Gang tossing Ushi into the middle of the brawl. Ushi will smack onto the fighters face causing them to go flying out of the cutscene while also bouncing Ushi into Arataki’s arms who will catch and hug Ushi slightly awkwardly.
Extra Skill[]
Geo Reaction: This Extra Skill is best used in either Free For Alls or Team Battles. When used in just 1v1 matches, it’s rather ineffective unless you can combo it with items or stage hazards. When used, this extra skill will cause Arataki to hold up a palm in front of him as he creates a small burst of Geo earth energy to manifest in front of him. If this Geo energy burst manages to either hit an attack of the Fire, Electric, Water, or Ice element or hits an opponent who was hit by one of those elements in the past 1 second. If this burst hits an opponent they will take no damage or knockback. Instead, a small crystalline shard will bounce out of the elemental reaction towards Arataki. Arataki, or any other fighter, are capable of picking up these crystals. When picked up these crystals will grant a small defensive buff against attacks received of the triggering element. So if Arataki uses Geo Reaction on a fire-element attack then the crystalline shard will grant a buff against fire attacks. The buff will wear off after 6 seconds have passed and getting a second crystal will override the first one with a new defensive buff and timer.
