Assist Trophy Info[]
Alois is a commanding officer of the Knights of Seiros, a military order within the Church whose base is Garreg Mach Monastery. Before Rhea or Seteth, Alois is loyal to his ex-commander, Jeralt. When Jeralt dies at the hands of Those Who Slither in the Dark, Alois permanently joins Byleth's party, even if that means betraying the Church of Seiros. He is a happy-go-lucky, aloof knight proficient in axes. He loves fishing, although he's not particularly good at it, and offers weekend seminars in axes and brawling.
Mode of Assistance[]
Alois will immediately run towards the nearest ledge, whether that be on a floating platform or off the side of a stage. As he does so, he will shout, "Let's catch a delicious fish!" or "Gotta catch us a fishy!" Once he is positioned, he will take out his fishing rod and let it lower down into the depths of the stage. The length until the stage's drop reaches it blast zone won't matter, as Alois will always pull his rod up within the next two seconds. More often than not, he'll come up with nothing. Belabored by himself, he'll lower his hands on his knees and say, "Aw, man!" or "That's not good!" But, being ever the chipper guy, he'll immediately get back to repeating this until he does grab something. Usually, this will be on his third go, but might be on his second or fourth, too.
If Alois catches something on his second turn, it'll be either a smaller fish or a lower grade item, such as a Mistake or Mr. Saturn. If it is the former, the fish will flail around the stage, to and fro, smacking fighters with its tailfin and causing light damage. It can be dispatched and will become Food once it is. If Alois catches it on his third or fourth turn, it'll be a bigger fish or a higher grade item, such as a Smart Bomb or evolved Mutagens. If it's a bigger fish, the same rules apply as its smaller brethren, but on a larger scale. There's a rare chance that the legendary Big One will be hoisted up by none other than Alois, too! It will only ever appear if it takes Alois four tries to have something catch his line. If he pulls the Big One up, this massive fish is the size of Bowser and will deal massive damage to those that are hit by it as it flails about. If it is beaten and consumed, it can heal up to 100% damage! But, it won't certainly give up without a fight, and may more often than not fall off the stage or disappear before it can be defeated. If Alois catches the Big One, he'll say, "Whoa! We've got the Big One!" and struggle for a slight moment longer to pull it up. Once he does, his rod will snap and he'll fall back on his buttocks, rubbing it before leaving the stage.
