Character Info[]

Adeleine is a young painter who decided to come to Planet Popstar so that she could study art. Why she needs to study when she can make her paintings come alive is anyone’s guess. After being possessed by Dark Matter and forced to fight Kirby, she later helps out the pink puffball in his quest to recover the Crystal Shards. At some point she formed a friendship with Ribbon and partnered up with her to help Kirby out once again when Kirby needed help from his friends against Hyness.

General Information[]

Entrance[]

Ribbon will fly out onto the stage as she carries Adeleine along with her. After Ribbon drops off Adeleine the two give each other a quick high five before getting ready to fight.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby will wear Adeleine’s beret.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Ribbon will fly about around Adeleine’s head before booping her on the head with her wand as little sparkles fly out of the wand.

Down Taunt: Referencing her fellow paint lover, Paint Roller, Adeleine will hold up the “Rock On” sign with her hand and shake her hand a couple times.

Side Taunt: Adeleine will draw a small caricature of one of her opposing fighters in the current match.

Victory Poses[]

  1. Adeleine will face towards the camera and hold up a thumbs up with her paintbrush still in hand as she sizes up the camera for a painting with a wide smile on her face and her head just ever so slightly tilted to the side. Ribbon will be mimicking this look as she perches herself on Adeleine’s shoulder.
  2. Adeleine will spin in place as Ribbon flies above her head before both strike a pose facing the camera just like when completing a level in Kirby Star Allies.
  3. Hand in hand, Adeleine & Ribbon will dance together in a circle with the occasional joyful jump from Adeleine

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Painting: Pulling out her easel, Adeleine will paint a small classic Kirby enemy which will then jump off of the easel to join the fray. Six different enemies can be created from this attack and they are chosen randomly. Adeleine can paint these enemies quickly, however she can only have two painted enemies on the screen at a time. These painted creations can be attacked and destroyed and they will also disappear after roughly 7 seconds. Whether they are killed or just expire, these painted creations will burst into harmless colorful paint.

N-Zs are the weakest of Adeleine’s painted creations and will simply run forward and damage any enemies that bump into them. N-Zs will turn around when they reach the end of a platform (or bump into an obstacle) and will not jump off of them.

Ghost Knights will run and jump forward as they thrust their lance forward to try and skewer Adeleine’s opponents. Ghost Knights will not turn around at the edge of the platform (however they will if they run into an obstacle) and may end up jumping off the stage by accident. Ghost Knights will deal more damage than N-Zs.

Octagons will float forwards and then gently arc upwards after they are painted before growing in size and spewing a damaging smoke from his body. The damage is small, but it hits multiple times to rack up damage.

Bronto Burts will lazily fly forwards, but if an opponent comes near them they will do a mad beeline dash towards them.

I3s are similar to Octagons. They will float upwards at a steep angle and then slam straight down. They are able to do this twice before they disappear.

Mariels are spider-like enemies which will quickly run forwards to damage anything in their path. They are the second in size only to a fully grown Octagon and can even run up walls and ceilings similar to the Hothead item.

Side Special[]

Paint Skates: Suddenly wearing a pair of roller skates identical to the ones worn by Paint Roller, Adeleine will skate on forwards leaving a trail of paint behind her on the stage as she goes. At any time you can press the Up button again to have Adeleine jump up and spin in the air as she holds her paintbrush above herself almost as if she was performing a pirouette. When Adeleine does this she will cause bits of damaging paint to fly around her from both the paint brush and her skates. Additionally you can tap left or right to have Adeleine change directions on the fly.

Up Special[]

Ribbon Flight: When this special is activated Ribbon will grab onto Adeleine and you will enter into a period of free flight. This free flight will last for 10 seconds and if it ends while you are still in the air you will enter a state of special fall, unable to do anything until you land back onto the stage. During free flight Adeleine will be carrying Ribbon’s Crystal Gun. Each tap of the special button during this move will cause Adeleine to fire two small crystal-shaped projectiles that are just a little off-set from each other vertically that fly forwards. They do small damage, but you can keep firing the gun as long as this special move is active.

Down Special[]

Checkerboard Chase: By slamming her paintbrush against the ground Adeleine can cause thin tiles to fly up into the air to hit opponents. These are the red and pink tiles as taken from the Hard mode of Checkerboard Chase from Kirby 64. Adeleine is able to charge this move up by holding down the Down Special button and doing so will cause her to hold her paintbrush up ready to slam it down as paint particles will swirl around her brush. The more paint swirling around the brush, the further the move has been charged and when it’s at its maximum charge it will look like a solid band of painted energy encircling the tip of her brush.

When the brush is slammed into the ground, paint will erupt from the stage, similar to that of a geyser, as it causes one of the tiles to fly up into the air. When fully charged this move can hit just about halfway on Final Destination. The tiles closest to Adeleine barely come up off the stage at all, but the further out the move travels the higher the tiles will be flung into the air. It’s a bit of a gradual slope though especially when compared to Ike’s Eruption move which is more about having flames reach high into the sky than traveling a long horizontal distance.

Final Smash[]

Crystal Laser: Adeleine will pull out the Crystal Gun as pulsing pink and purple energy amasses in front of it before it gets fired out from the Crystal Gun as if it was the Daybreak. This laser can hit for multiple times and is highly damaging so it’s recommended that opponents try to keep away from it. It’s not so easy however as you can use the control stick to have Ribbon fly Adeleine up or down altering where the laser fires. The laser always fires in a horizontal line however so you can’t angle it diagonally nor can you have Adeleine move to the left or right, only up and down.

Extra Skill[]

Advanced Painting: This move is similar to Adeleine’s Painting special, hence the name, however with this one you are actually able to choose which enemy you are painting. The move will first see Adeleine painting the Ice Dragon onto her easel before changing into Waiu and then Kracko. Releasing the special button will cause the painted foe currently on the easel to jump off the easel and onto the stage. Adeleine can only have one of these painted creations on the field at a time. Just like the enemies from the Painting Special, these paintings will burst into harmless paint when their time is done.

Ice Dragon will slowly walk forward on the stage (not turning around at obstacles or the edge of platforms, but won’t go past the edge either) and will spew out freezing air ahead of it which can damage opponents multiple times and has a high chance to freeze. Ice Dragon will disappear after about 5 seconds.

Waiu will quickly throw forward 3 purple Cutter projectiles in rapid succession. After these three projectiles are thrown, Waiu will briefly pause before throwing a second set of three and then disappearing.

Kracko will float upwards and strike directly below itself a beam of electricity before quickly flying forwards. The beam of electricity will continue to fire without stopping as long as Kracko keeps moving across the stage. Kracko’s electrical beam has a range equal to the distance of Battlefield’s highest platform down to the base platform. Kracko will disappear after about 3 seconds.

Unique Traits[]

Adeleine is able to jump one extra time in the air thanks to Ribbon's help.
