Character Info[]
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. One hundred years later the young Avatar, Aang, would be found trapped in an iceberg under the ocean and awakened by a pair of Water Tribe siblings. From there the three would set out on a journey around the world gaining new friends as they helped Aang learn how to use all four elements and master the Avatar State so that one day he could fight back against the Fire Nation and save the world.
General Information[]
Entrance[]
A sphere of whirling winds is seen on the stage, before it begins to dissipate revealing Aang inside of it.
Kirby Hat[]
Kirby will have Aang’s blue arrow tattoo on his head.
Taunts[]
Up Taunt: Momo, Aang’s pet winged lemur, appears out from under Aang’s clothes and climbs around him and up on top of Aang’s head. Aang will happily give Momo a good scratch behind the ear before Momo disappears back under Aang’s clothes.
Down Taunt: Aang will enter a meditative state by sitting down and crossing his legs as he presses his fists up against each other. His arrow tattoos will glow as this occurs. This taunt lasts for as long as the taunt button is held.
Side Taunt: Aang leans over to the side and creates this small ball of swirling winds between his hands as he has this huge goofy grin on his face.
Victory Poses[]
- Aang will be seen riding on his air scooter as he comes rolling in from off screen with a great big grin on his face laughing all the way.
- With a big ‘ol grin on his face, Aang will spin about as he gathers the winds around himself and leaps up into the air with a great big “yahoo!”
- Aang will mimic the beginning of the intro to The Last Airbender showing off Master Benders performing stances and techniques related to their element. In order this features first a Water Tribe stance creating a large globule of water and sending it flying off screen, then an Earth Kingdom stance stomping into the ground causing a large boulder to fly out from the ground and be kicked off screen, next a Fire Nation stance featuring a leap into the air as a lash of flame comes down onto the ground with a kick, and then finally an Air Nomad stance where after a whirling of arms a tornado of wind is sent flying towards the camera.
Moveset[]
Standard Special[]
Air Scooter: Aang will create a ball of wind beneath him and sits atop it in a style that could almost be called a stance change. Being hit with enough knockback will cause the Air Scooter to break apart and Aang to fly away. While he’s still on the Air Scooter however his mobility is greatly enhanced. Not only can Aang move at much faster speeds around the battlefield, but he can use the Air Scooter to hover in midair similarly to Peach’s hovering technique or that of the Super Leaf. Aang also has an extra midair jump in this state and if he were to run right at a wall while riding the Air Scooter he can even use it to fly up that wall to evade attacks. Unfortunately Aang’s offensive capabilities are significantly reduced while he’s riding the Air Scooter and he is only able to perform basic jabs and tilts which differ from his usual jabs and tilts when he’s on the ground. Aang is able to cancel out of the Air Scooter at any time by pressing the Standard Special button once again.
Side Special[]
Water Whip: Aang will sweep his arms in a flowing motion as he gathers water from the air and creates a globule of water. Quickly following this Aang will seem to stretch out the water into a longer form and whip out forwards with it for a quick stinging attack. This attack doesn’t come with a lot of knockback, but is great at hitting opponents at range. This attack can be angled diagonally by tilting the control stick to give Aang further coverage.
Up Special[]
Fire Lash: To start this attack, Aang will leap up high into the air and as he approaches the height of his jump his foot will ignite with flames as he spins around himself in the air in a cartwheel-like fashion. The spin ends as Aang’s foot is extended towards the ground as he plummets back downwards. This attack can damage opponents as Aang spins around and will pull them into the hit causing them to fall down with him back to the stage. If Aang makes contact with the stage with his flaming foot he’ll cause a burst of flame to flare out from the impact of his foot which hits not only in that area, but also causes a smaller flame to travel a short distance ahead of Aang to catch opponents who were just out of range of the initial attack.
Down Special[]
Rock Shield: Aang will stand in a strong sturdy stance as he stomps one foot on the ground. This causes a spire of rock to erupt out of the ground roughly Aang’s height to be used as a shield. This Rock Shield has its own HP value and can be destroyed when it takes enough damage. This shield can be used as a barrier to protect Aang from attacks and will be destroyed after taking either 20% damage or after it’s been on the stage for 8 seconds. As the Rock Shield takes damage it will change shape with bits and pieces of it breaking off to show how damaged it is. Aang is also able to use this Rock Shield to attack by standing next to it and pressing Down Special a second time. Doing so will cause the Rock Shield to break up from the ground and fly forwards as a large chunk. The more intact the Rock Shield was before Aang sends it flying, the more damage and knockback it will deal to whatever it hits.
Final Smash[]
The Avatar State: Upon activating his Final Smash, Aang’s eyes and his arrow tattoos will begin to glow with a blinding white light as Aang works to bend all four elements at once. Aang will rise up into the air a short distance and create a large sphere of swirling winds centered on himself. At the same time rings of the other three elements swirl around Aang with two diagonal rings of water and earthen rocks surround Aang from opposite angles inside of the sphere air and a horizontal ring of fire surrounds Aang from outside the sphere of air. While Aang is safe inside of this maelstrom of the elements, opponents who enter the sphere will become trapped inside of it and take constant damage as Aang bends the elements to his will. When this Final Smash is over Aang will cause the sphere to implode, dealing one final hit to any opponents caught inside it and sending them flying away from him. This attack is considerably larger than that of a Smart Bomb and if an opponent is in Aang’s range from the very moment of the attack then they can rack up roughly 70% damage in total.
Extra Skill[]
Energybending: This Extra Skill works as a Command Grab as Aang grips onto his opponent by placing one hand on their chest and the other atop their head with the thumb on their forehead (or their equivalent). Once the opponent is gripped in this way, a flash of blue light will emanate from Aang as the opponent is hit for a small amount of damage and knocked down into a crumple state. Additionally, Aang will be healed with the same amount of damage that he dealt with this attack as a way to symbolize Aang bending his opponent’s chi.
